Well here’s a objective opinion: Yes, the “captain” is a handful. He is high energy. He has “old school” perspective like my father. Knowing this, going in, our group of 12 put our “smiles on”. He saw that we were there to be active and have a good time. If you go here expecting an infinity pool and resort service, you will be disappointed. It’s a family run business. You’re AT the guys house! Be respectful and you will get a great tour. This guy knows the area better than anyone. I was blown away by the food we were served. That was the only “resort quality” part of Let’s Go. Would have liked a full bar, but whatever. Yes, the macaws were sad, but we weren’t gonna let that ruin our day. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years. Yes, I would change a lot, but it’s not my place. He has a gem of a location and he does it his way. We had a great time.

They don't take credit cards and they charge you $1 to use the bathroom that does not even have a functioning light in it. We wanted to do the blue cave tour and the guy told us ("Captin Good Life" I guess) okay heres your kayak and all you do is paddle a mile this way and you will see a sprite bottle and thats where the cave is. He wouldn't even rent us snorkel gear because he said "people took them." Never ended up going because we only had 2 snorkels. So yeah I would not recommend this place is just kind of sketchy.

This may be the WORST experience I have ever had on vacation. As you enter ‘captain goodlife’s’ filthy compound you are greated by his various pets WHO ARE ALL SEVERLY ABUSED. The worst of the abused animals was a weathering parrot - whos water was BLACK. I went to give the dying animal more water and cue Captain good life! CURSING AND SCREAMING at me.

As for the excursion - LAME. Literally saw 1 fish and a bunch of random stupid stuff he tried to place in the ocean for tourists. He pridefully boasted about having 5 kids with 3 wives. At his pinnacle he referred to darker skinned islanders as FU¥%+*^ NI&&@$.

When his 6 year old daughter came to tie our ship off after the miserable trip - he told us she wasn’t in school that day because he had slept in.

This was the worst experience of our lovely time in curacao - BEWARE.

At first the people were very friendly and tried to sell us a boat trip to the blue room but when we said we want to go there by foot and asked for the direction, they got rude and only talked in their native language (wich we cant understand). They made clear we should leave the area
Afterwards we discovered that the walking path to the blue room is just behind their house.
Unfriendly and harsh - plus, the place is a mess

Today it is really bad to go there. The tour Captain Goodlife offers is now bad.
Last time I was there at 10. oct. 2017, the boattour was less as an hour. Captain Goodlife unfriendly and aggressiv. Save your money and don't go there

Home of captain good life! He's a crazy man, but his boat tour is amazing, very fairly priced. Groups can get a discount. The beach is nice too.

WOW!!!
Captain Good life and the Blue Room is one of Curacao best kept secret. All the other "Cruisers" were so jealous when we shared our experience and photos. Super secluded felt like we were on a private island. The hospitality is unmatched.

We loved the experience of taking a boat from Captain good life restaurant to the Blue Room. His boat chartered us to a gorgeous hidden blue cave where we were able to swim under the rocks and get into the big cave with tons of schools of fish we're swimming. After that he dropped us at this Hidden Cove beach where we could snorkel to a sunken ship with coral. It was a great afternoon !
