The experience was one of a kind. The waiter pulled up a chair and sat with us while he explained the menu. He also offered us a side dish of iguana which tastes like chicken.

Nice place with local atmosphere and delicious food. The lunch menu costs 35 ANG. We loved the walk and talk menu. It basically means that a guy comes to your table and tells you what the kitchen serves today. You can pick and choose and try a little bit of everything. That’s really great and what we’ve got was very delicious.

The food was pretty good. Never had an iguana before so we came here to try. The service was a little slow but they were very friendly. The price was leaning towards the higher side.

Good, homemade food. Like my grandma used to make for us. Real Curacao, common man food. If you're looking for the taste of the real Curacao and not that watered down version you get at every tourist place.

Awesome Service and Food. They make you feel you are in their home. How often does that ever happen? The place has very cool ambiance with birds and cats and old memorabilia. My chicken and her fish were very good and the side of rice & beans paired nicely. The pickled onions with Scotch Bonnet pepper dressing was special and the waitress scored the recipe and a couple of peppers for us to try it at the condo. In the end, they wowed us.

Maybe we showed up on a bad day. The ambiance is very local, which was a great start. Jaanchie did come help us order food, but he seemed tired or bored. Unfortunately both our drink and food orders were mishandled. Two other larger parties that arrived after us both received their food 10-15 minutes before us. The food was fine, but clearly not made to order, which is no problem except the total bill for two people and one lemonade was $50 USD. I guess the place is popular, so he can charge what he wants. Typically I’m happy to pay (significantly) extra money for a memorable experience or exceptional food. But maybe we showed up on a bad day.

Good traditional/home-cooked food with some much-appreciated shade. If you are closer to Willemsted, would recommend the Old Market instead. Would not recommend a special trip out here for the purpose of eating here, but it is a good option for those in the area.

No menus, owner sits at table rattles off what he has. Forget anything like just a salad or sandwich. Goat stew, fish and chicken. He focuses on the men in the group didn't ask me what I want so I got nothing but water. Screw it.

Popular place for tourists and locals
The owner was on-site his "tactic" is to sit down with you and make sure you get what you want food and drinks good business model except there is no menu so prices are surprises :)
2 adults and 1 teenager left behind $70 fir a nice lunch.. but nothing over the top.. review the pics to decide ..
This is the place to try iguana, we had it as a side dish .. tastes like beef.. except that the bones are different shape.. don't know what's the fuss and no there is no aphrodisiac or faster heartbeat inducer.. just advertising :)
Overall a good place to get a bite.. after all you are in the North of the island , probably checking out a beach or two close by and there is no other option really so shake hands with the owner and enjoy the food.

Old-style, visit to grandfather's house feeling, this place is a traditional Curaçao restaurant that has refused to modernize. It's great if you're into that sort of thing. The prices of the food are really good, and so is the flavor.

The group of friends I went with absolutely loved the food! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the staff was friendly. They are not a Five star location but they don't deserve the poor service reviews.

I just dropped in for a take out and had a social chat with other people of Westpoint while enjoying a cold beer. The food is good.

Food was great. Ambiance and atmosphere we're like nothing I had ever experienced before. The owner was very friendly and basically just told us what we would be eating.and he picked everything perfect for my wife and I. I would go as far as to say Jaamchie's is a must stop if you are in Curacao.

If you go there past lunch time, you will get a fast service. You have the choice of a wide variety of local meals. All dishes are prepared fresh. Pro-Tip: try Iguana!

This place was horrible. If I could give it less than one star, I would. I don't like giving bad reviews, I'd rather just not say anything, but this place was so bad I felt I had to write a review.

My wife and I are adventrous and so we were curious and interested in eating at what should have been a charming local restaurant.

It took them 15 minutes to have anyone even stop at our table. As other reviews note, there is no fixed menu. There's a guy that act as a "walking menu" and comes around describing the dishes for the day. We usually enjoy restaurants that locally source their ingredients, so this in and if itself wasn't an issue. We each ordered a dish and a beer and a glass of water.And waited.

Finally 20 minutes later we got a beer. We still had no water. We tried to flag down the staff, but they seemed completely disinterested.

45 minutes after we ordered, we finished our beers and tried to flag down the staff and order more, but no luck. We continued to waitAnd wait. In total, it was an hour and half before we got our food, and they got our order completely wrong and brought us out something we didn't even order. And what food they did bring was awful. The rice and beans were lukewarm and the fish was overcooked and tough.

If it wasn't for the fact that we were hungry and there weren't really any other options open at that time, we would have just left. In retrospect, we should have left and just driven out somewhere else.

Avoid this place.

About as authentic as it gets, its 100 year history involves everything from plantation houses to shipwrecks. . The food was tasty and the experience was quintessential Cuaracao. There are no menus. The owner, the grandson of the founder, pulls up a chair and sits at your table while he explains the menu. We had beef stew (an island staple), fried shrimp (large and fresh), and a plate of curried iguana. It is one of the few places that serves iguana, which is not terrible, but is filled with bones. It is worth trying, if only to say that you did it.

The restaurant is located new West Punt, on the opposite side of the island, away from Willamstad. It is worth the drive, there are national parts and unspoiled jungle. There are also several beaches and most of the islands premier diving spots and resorts.
