Perfect setting to learn with shallow bay and onshore winds. Nice open launch site. Fun scene on the beach. Kim was my instructor and she seemed to always say exactly what I needed to hear in order to keep me steadily progressing. Her style is very much safety-oriented while definitely also pushing you forward to get out there and keep trying to ride. She seems to prefer early time in the water for learners rather than on land. I was an absolute beginner but was able to stand up for short time periods after just 3 days. Just get back up and try again and again. If you can spend some time flying a trainer kite before taking lessons, I think it is invaluable. Thanks to Awa Salu for getting me hooked on kiteboarding!
A couple of weeks ago I had one private lesson from 2 hours given by Yoel. I was already able to do the waterstart and ride downwind before this lesson. With the clear instructions from Yoel I was able to ride upwind after only 2 hours. Yoel is a really nice and relaxed guy which helps a lot during the lesson. I really liked the two way communication radio, the system is working great.
I spoke with Kimberley the other day and she is nice and enthusiastic as well. I would recommend Awa Salu for sure.
Great lesson, Yoel explains everything really well. Materials are well maintained. Voice system where you can talk to each other on the water is also really helpful. Had a great day!
