Just returned from a week here with a friend. Great hotel, spacious and spotless, staff excellent and multilingual, good pool and beach. Very breezy which was lovely as it stopped you getting hot, though easy to burn and towel pegs for sunloungers are a must. Very relaxing, excellent food and drink. Friend went scuba diving whilst I used the lovely spa facilities. Great for couples, and friends etc but wouldn't recommend area for teenagers as nothing outside of hotel. A great chill out holiday 😀

Booked our honeymoon here! Bit worried as had heard mixed reviews about the island in general. Cape Verde is lovely but feels and is very new! Out with the resort a lot of the town is under construction.
We were given a bottle of complementary champagne on our bed on arrival which was a nice touch!
The hotel itself is massive and staff are friendly. We aren't overly social people and the staff smile and say hello but don't really hang about which we like. The rooms are clean, bathroom is nice and mini bar is stocked every two days.
The whole island is a bit windy and we found on our first day that the pool with the swim up bar is particularly windy but if you move down to the other pool its not as bad!
The pool bar itself is more a novelty than anything else the drinks from the normal walk up bit are bigger.
The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner is nice and varied. We did feel a bit like deer in headlights at the beginning as there was little instruction and we just had to work it out ourselves (due to being antisocial no doubt)
It's a lovely resort as long as your happy to laze about in the sun and eat!

All I will say is, you get what you pay for. Don't expect any refinement or service above and beyond.

The Island is almost dessert like and equally deserted. Santa Maria the local town is a challenge as the local people are very pushy in all respects.

The resort is OK, weather pretty good although windy but as said earlier, don't expect the X Factor!

Make sure you take an iron!!!

Good hotel with good service, great food, good rooms and friendly service. In the restaurants I've seen small pieces of Tuna steak and some great smoked Salmon. Lot's of fish in general. Breakfast is also extensive with lots of choices. Drinks are good (they serve Bailey's too) but not as good as in the Caribbean (more lemon here). Beach with sand is close. There's a lot of wind which doesn't make you realize initially how strong the sun is (until you get sunburn). Santa Maria is relatively close... 25 minutes walk or 3 Euro for a cab.

Always helpful and courteous personnel. Enough spare time activities. Food and drinks were plentiful, and that pineapple jello... That alone is worth the trip!

Stayed for a week. Nice rooms. Good buffet. Generally a great place to stay. We did visit the island cause I can't sit around a hotel all week. Would say 4 star hotel compared to other 5 star I've stayed in around the world. Would go again very soon 😎🍹

    Great food and drink.
Plenty room at pool, however for five days there was noise from chainsaw loud enough to be a nuisance in that you couldn't hear taped music, Although that might not have been to bad.
    Room and maid service excellent.
    Pool bar very good.
Great service in restaurants although a bit quick in taking plates away.
    Reception staff couldn't be better.

Hotel was very nice with clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff and excellent food with a wide range menu to suit the majority of guests. Desserts to die for ! Though the weather was glorious during the day you needed a light jacket or cardi for the evenings as the wind was quite cooling. Pool was under used as was not heated but immaculated maintained. Our stay here was great and very relaxing .

Great hotel, food entertainment and room first class staff very friendly also drinks were all branded the 🍺 was a local brew called Strella quite nice but tastes nicer out the bottle or can. There was not a lot to do outside the hotel but if you like walking there are two great walks along the beach,go out the rear entrance to left a 40 minutes walk takes you to Santa Maria. Go right about two and a half mile takes you to Bikini Beach club. Outside the rear entrance of the hotel all the local tour guys are selling their tours,we did an island tour a third of the price of TUI and they don't take the money until you get back to the hotel great value for 25€pp great tour on the back of a 4x4 and the driver takes you every where.all in all a great holiday

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Food was the best I've had at an all-inclusive. The facilities are fantastic, which is needed, because there isn't all that much to do in Santa Maria, or on Sal for that matter, but would recommend for a chilled out beach holiday with good food and drink.

We are currently staying here for a week and we have absolutely no complaints! We have stayed in lots of hotels and this hotel has by far the most relaxed atmosphere. The food is excellent and you could be here for a month and still not eat the same meal from the main buffet restaurant! We've only seen a few flies but maybe that's down to the time of the year. We can always get sun loungers by the pool no matter what time we venture down. The hotel is spotless including the rooms, outside areas and the toilets by the pool. I read reviews that it was a long walk to the reception and buffet restaurant if you stayed in blocks 4 and 5, but if a long walk is 5 mins then that is correct!!! (We're in block 4 with a lovely sea view). As soon as you say no to the guys at the gate to the beach who are selling excursions, they leave you alone. The beach is lovely but since we've arrived there have only been yellow flags so no kayaking for us, but hopefully before we go home there'll be a green flag. The only negatives are that the evening entertainment leaves a lot to be desired and it would be nice if there was some music (even background music) at the outside area of the main building where everyone sits after dinner. The pool entertainment is good and there is lots of fun music all day there. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday to get away from the rain at home then this is definitely the place for you.

Very nice and chilled place to stay. No getting bothered by lookie lookie men even on the beach. Safe to leave the resort even at night. Best part is to see the baby turtles at the hatchery on the beach

The staff are pleasant and helpful. .the animation and activity teams are excellent. .great pool and pool bar ..every where clean and tidy. The food is 1st class. The only things to improve would be a larger sitting area for evening drinks and to implement the dress policy on an evening in the restaurant

Best of all is food here. Many different foods, excellent taste, even cakes and Jamaica coffee is perfect. Next best thing is mattress on beds. Pool bar offers drinking in water 😀 Sea is clear, sand smooth. Only wind is blowing... like in Atlantic 😀 and then waves are perfect for fun in sea. I recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a week at this hotel and loved it. The staff were fab the food and beverages were lovely and the rooms were a nice size and bright. We were a bit disappointed with the Speciality restaurants our Steakhouse meal was not very nice, the Mandalay was basically an Asian buffet but nice enough. I still score it a five as all in all it is one of the best hotels for atmosphere and friendliness that we have been to. We also liked the fact that if you wanted to do something all day everyday you could or if like us you just wanted r and r and some time to yourselves this was respected by the staff. Great mix of nationalities of hotel guests which was also great.

Greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival then followed the porter taking our luggage to our room. Room was amazing, very well presented, clean, large, well set out and tastefully decorated. Pool area great. Staff very attentive and pleasant to talk to. Food offering for all inclusive was the best I've had.

Recent refurbishment has greatly enhanced this holiday resort the wifi is greatly improved (I write this from the beach bar ) The staff are friendly and helpful as ever but the evening entertainment can still be improved. The offerings in the restaurants are varied and improved but again lunchtime could be better and more varied. If you like to relax and take in the sun this is the place for you.

Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. Rooms were cleaned everyday with no complaints. Plenty of sun beds with beach right on site. Great variety when it comes to food choices with four restaurants to choose from in Rui Touareg. Entertainment was fun and poolside very relaxing. Would recommend to friends and family.
