Food is not very special. It is rather expensive for what you get. The service is rushed and pushing but very friendly. However, the atmosphere and live music are very nice

The food here is just average, but the music makes it a REALLY wonderful experience. We heard some really excellent musicians and singers, and the staff was friendly and spoke decent English. There I little else to do in Praia, but 5al da music made our trip memorable.

Historic place. Good food and reasonable price. Live music performance everyday at 21.30 local time. Cocktails and juices are natural and made on demand. Reservation is recommended for big groups, specially during the weekends.

Tremendous service, ambience, and live music. It's best to make your reservations early before 6pm. The music starts around 9pm. It is open all night. All the dishes are very appetizing, but since it depends on the market, some items may be sold out due to popularity, especially the fish. It's very affordable for a night out and is in a safe neighborhood. They have a police detail and security. It may be hard to spot from the street because the sign is smal (red circular sign), but don't be fooled, you'll enjoy the experience!
