It's the second time we're here and relaxing it to the max! The staff is extremely friendly and very service minded. Second time we booked The Level and we'll probably go here a third time as well. You're at walking distance from the village but it gets pretty annoying when people try to pull you into every store there.

This is the best place I have ever been in my life. I had the most amazing life changing week here with my son and my new husband. The staff are all extraordinary in their willingness to do good service and they want nothing back for it. Beautiful people. No stress.

Rooms are nice and comfortable. When you're with kids it is a great place but when you lije a holiday quiet and no kids everywhere, better not to go here. Quantity of food is plenty, quality is not so good. Employees are friendly but not very qualified. Housekeeping is good. In our case we prefer next time to pay a bit more and go to Melia instead of Sol.

A very good resort, worth upgrading to the all-inclusive 'LEVEL', as it gives you exclusive breakfasts, a dedicated lounge on-site, a dedicated pool area with waitress/waiter service, as well as concierge service for bookings of restaurants and activities. The beach experience can sometimes be tarnished by the presence of packs of dogs scavenging for scraps of food from people using the sun loungers.

Beautiful place in a gorgeous location. Great all year round weather. Beautiful beaches. Book evening meals in the restaurants. Aqua, Rancho and Sahel in that order. Rooms cleaned daily, pools excellent. Nothing not to like. Will be back. Had a great holiday especially when it's snowing in the UK.

Miserable staff working the bars and restaurants. Very hard to get a smile.
The girls where worse than the boys with bad attitude
They all want rounding up and giving some lessons in customer service food not hot . Room clean but not cleaned daily meaning swept or wiped. Beds made everyday and clean towels. We where both was poorly after 1st day reported it when we where fit enough to walk to reception was told we would get our room disinfected. But it wasnt
The last straw was the small 6/8wk kitten which we saw deteriorate not sure how many days this will last
Not nice to see
But left for everyone to see😢 beware of the pack of dogs on beach friendly most of the time
But did chase small children couple times and bark a lot did have a few scars one small puppy had a bad open scars.
I think the hotel should be responsible and get them moved As you don't go away to see animals suffering!!

Large 4* hotel resort with the beach behind, ample friendly helpful staff, plenty of food and drinks although slightly repetitive and have to book some restaurants in advance. 14 blocks, quiet from block 7 and top floor have views. Don't feel rushed or pressured at breakfast, lunch or dinner and a small gym with most of the necessary equipment. Clean with a variety of pools and sun lounges/lounge areas and towels, fun water park too. Great kids club, day and night entertainment and alcohol on tap at the variety of bars which stocked a decent selection of branded drinks. Spacious rooms with balcony, safe, fridge, shower and bath, storage with proper hangers but no iron/ironing board. Devices are slow to charge. Suitable for all ages and great weather although can be very windy at times and waves quite strong. Had to wait a good while for luggage to be delivered to the room but wasn't a problem for us. Didn't use the spa as the one at the nearby shops had more to offer and was cheaper.

We had a fantastic week stay here in Cape Verde. The choice of restaurants included within the all inclusive package, were top notch. I personally thought that the food here was of an excellent quality, especially provided within the more formal restaurants. The absolute highlight of the whole holiday was by far the entertainment (in particular the Lion King production). The Local Cape Verdean staff are highly talented - especially their dancing abilities!! Highly recommend this hotel you'll love it here.

Spacious clean rooms, perfect service and food. Large swimming pools and strong drinks. Professional Staff.
I do strongly recommend the hotel for couples, families with children as well as for disabled people. The hotel is perfectly prepared.

Great resort, family friendly, good food and drink, professional entertainment, first class service, modern clean rooms. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Free transport into town there and back. Good beach. Rate 9 out of ten

Nice hotel but think I have been spoiled with some amazing hotels and this just didn t quite have x factor for me. Take beach towels as hotel runs out. The giant pegs are handy to tether towel to sunbed as there is a breeze. Good very good. Take fly/mosquito repellent. Staff very nice. Definitely worth upgrading to level access x

Just arrived back after 7 lovely days at the Sol Dunas Beach Resort, i must say we both had a great time, Food Fantastic, Hotel Fantastic, Staff Fantastic, Resort Fantastic, Could not fault this hotel or their lovely staff, always on hand to help, the rooms were cleaned everyday, this was our first time to Cape Verde, we will defiantly be returning, sooner than anticipated.

Great holiday destination with great services and family atmosphere. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Drinks options are good and food is too a reasonable standard. Easy access to a well maintained beautiful beach which has lots of sunbeds available, water was however a tad rough for swimming while we were visiting but with the number of pools available within the resort this didn't cause any concern

The resort looks brand new. Rooms and swimming pools are very nice. Food in the restaurants is quite good too. Staff is very polite and helpful. The sand beach is very clean. Go to the left side of the beach near the Bikini beach bar for swimming (no waves and rocks have been removed). Food and drinks are all inclusive except a few things like lobster or foreign alcohol. The only downside is that the island is pretty small and there isn't much to do except relaxing.

Fantastic resort. Hotel immaculate. The staff can't do enough for you. Would recommend upgrading to the Level for waiter service, private pool and lots of other extras. Will definitely be back.

Lovely hotel really great for kids or family s with young kids. Good choice of food and the 7 pools and entertainment make it fab. Only downside for me was the water park in the hotel has a no adults policy so I couldn't go on with the kids. Didn't say anything about that on the website or on Thomson s. Lots of parents got caught out with that.

Great hotel even though it's now two hotels Melia and Sol Dunas. ..standards have dropped they do need to smarten up a bit and be a bit more friendly. Food in restaurants very good..

Really nice place great value for money friendly staff. Good clean spacious rooms, lots of space around all the swimming pools. Kids club is very good lots for kids to do and learn.

This is our first time to Cape Verde and still another week to go.
The Melia Dunas is one if the best hotels we have stayed in, extremely clean with lots of restaurants, entertainment and bars.
Brilliant live music while you are eating or drinking.
I think it is because we upgraded to The Level and I am really pleased we did this.
I cannot believe some of the other reviews but I am pleased I have my own experiences to go by and will come back again next year
BTW an awesome Island tour yesterday with Obama Tours on the beach €25 what a great day they made it for everyone 😎

Nice place to visit with the family. Lots of entertainment situated around the resort. We found the staff were very nice and the place was reasonably clean. The food isn't the best but what do you expect at and all you can eat? They let you dine in nicer restaurants during the week, they have a selection of 4. But beware because if you go to the Grill house the steak costs a little extra!
