What a beautiful Playa and area of Cuba. Hard to get to. Some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in Cuba.

Beautiful place but the service is not worth the price. During our time there, 70% of the meals on the menu were not available and the ones available were not tasty (pasta with tomato sauce, a very small portion of fish, a pizza with some cheese and nothing else).
But I still recommend Maria La Gorda, it’s a great experience if you’re a diver, off the touristic paths of Cuba.

Nice staff, decent food by Cuban standards, but sadly they ran out of almost all cocktail ingredients halfway throughout our stay!

Bit overpriced but seemingly authentic and cozy atmosphere. Wide variety on the menu too. Some authentic music would be nice too.

The Villa and beach area are beautiful and very peaceful. If you are looking to get away from all the hustle and a secluded beach area, then this is the place. The villa staff are very helpful. They also organize some very good snorkeling and scuba diving tours at a good price. I personally recommend diving here to see some wonderful corals and sea life. The water is clear and with sunlight makes for excellent views.
A day trip from Vinales makes for a good drive and an excellent day!

It’s a beautiful beach and the water is like swimming in a pool. Scuba diving is cheep. The only downside is there are lots of cats and dogs.

This is a horrible hotel to stay
1: plenty of "Black Sand Flies" kind of dangerous mosquito.
2: the reception won't worn you about them.
3: they have no equipment to stop them.
4: there is no doctor or drugstore to treat the the bite spots
5: the treatment proses will take around 7 days and you cannot stop scratching your skin and probably will lose the rest of your trip.
Maria La Gorda is one the haven place for divers because of underwater tunnelsand small caves, black corals, the wall and

It was nice to scubadive here, i didn't stay at the hotel, but in a casa in the village next to it as the hotel was too expensive for me. Yet, the people were very friendly and we were aloud to use the facilities (a big chess game on the grass, the beach, the chairs on the strand). We ate a delicous crocque monsieur that was not expensive. It was very peacefull overthere, probably because the locals are not aloud to swim on the beach so there are not so many people, atleast not when i was there ( september)

The dives are ok and not very expensive. But it's now worth it because it's very very far, and super expensive to get there. The hotel is nice, given that you are in a country with scarced food and everything else.

This place offers amazing diving! The downside is bad service and terrible and overpriced food. The buffet costs 12CUC, which is absolutely ridiculous for the awful food that is served. If you overlook that, be prepared for the most amazing diving Cuba has to offer! I would also recommend the extensively check the diving gear, as it isn't the most reliable
