If you want to enjoy good food with an nice view of the see, this is your place. Located in Vedado neighborhood, this place is a little bit too far away for people who are staying in the City Center or Old Havana. It is more or less 45 min walking from there. But the food and drinks are really good quality and very tasty. I ordered the Lam in wine sauce, it was spectacular, really tender and so much flavor. Fish is pretty good, too. I recommend the ceviche as a starter. The service is pretty friendly. Make sure to eat in the terrace where you can appreciate the view.

I attended a Rum & Cigar pairing at this restaurant with a group of about 10 adults, including my group of 5. The tapas that were served with each pairing were delicious! We tried ceviche, pulled lamb, and another dish made with lobster. It’s a bit on the pricy side compared to other restaurants in Cuba, but I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a delicious meal and a beautiful view of the water.

Great food, service, ambiance and views of the port. Make sure you have good weather so you can sit outside.

Great Locationfood was goodbut I found chaotic service got in the way of a memorable meal. Too many servers running around not seeing the needs of the people therebut correcting what was ordered and not understood.3 mistakes with our order that nightpotential is hugebut possible management getting in the way and not setting up appropriate systems for staff?

Fancy (last time i was there the president of Chile & her team had taken over the whole dining room inside), lovely outside on the waterfront, great service, a tad pricey, but the food was not on par with the restaurant's reputation. A very nice place nonetheless. You must call ahead.

Food is good, especially seafood. The best feature of this restaurant is its location, just at Almendares river mouth, so if you choose the terrace you'll get a very nice breeze and view.
The place is sometimes too crowded due to tourist groups and service can be slow.

The food was great, the views were fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. One of the best fancy restaurants in Havana.

Food was good. The seaside view/experience as the sun went down was mindblowing.

Rio Mar is a special kind of awful. For the TL;DR variety: selective service, sub-par food quality for the price point, overall mismanaged.

The restaurant is chic in appearance, but has wasted all its class on ambiance. I had seen a drunken fight rage out for an unnecessarily long time between customers and the manager/owner reward the most hostile of the two with free liquor and special attention.

The hostess had little experience handling customers and no experience running a floor. She spent most of her time away from the front, which is a big no-no for moderate-to-fine dining, and offered a no-reservation group a table outside when they had come in after us (granted we had no-reservation as well, but why give two identical groups different treatment).

My experience was spent having to find out where my food was, my napkins were, my utensils as if it were my job to serve myself. Meanwhile, the wait staff visibly treated some customers with more care and consideration than others. It was a spectacle to say the least.

To go from bad to worse, the food was terrible. Bland doesn't even cover the lack of consideration this restaurant gives to the food they serve. The only flavor came from capers they most likely got from a jar.

Honestly, spare yourself. That kind of service isn't worth the view.

Beautiful setting overlooking the water toward Malecon. Attentive service and lovely food. Fresh baked bread served warm with garlic herbed butter, I had lobster tacos which were a perfect light meal. The plating is unique, nothing too fancy, but visually appealing. My friend had the chicken milanesa, their twist includes a chicken breast stuffed with ham/cheese (like cordon) then fried (wasn't the traditional pounded, thin fillet). Lovely experience with decent price points in a lovely setting.

Average food, over-priced wine, decent service - except for the fact that I had reserved a waterside table that they "could not find" (and I had also called to confirm the table the day before. It's a beautiful location, though a little off the beaten track, so arrange with your taxi driver to come back to pick you up, to save you the hassle of finding transportation to return to your hotel.
