  the first words I ever spoke were 'Kiko, pan'
  Kiko was a worker in the bakery that had been nationalised and was run by my father Martin Gonzalez. The bakery was opened by my grandfather Prisco Gonzalez in the early 20th century. When we left Cuba in 1969 we moved to Union City, New Jersey USA and opened Nela Bakery at 2513 Central Avenue from 1970-1988.
