Very small museum split into two wings charting the failed CIA-backed invasion here. Unfortunately, everything is in Spanish which makes it difficult to connect with the exhibits. Bring a translator if you're visiting.
The intact ex-WW2 vehicles outside the museum were the most interesting things here. You may also have a chance to watch an English subtitled short film about the invasion at the back of the museum, otherwise the whole place takes 30 minutes max to complete.response / report this review -

Small but interesting museeum. A way of exceriencing "the bay of pigs" from a Cuban perspective. Everything is in spanish so you'll need a guide / translater if you don't read spanish .

Small museum. They make you pay more if you want to take pictures, soyou knowjust don't make it obvious that you are taking pictures.

This a small museum (2 large rooms and outdoor exhibition) commemorating the 1961 defeat of the "Bay of pigs invasion" force.
The indoor exhibition has few guns/mortars of both sides and some personal items of the fallen soldiers and civilians.
There is a good explanation of the whole operation with maps and even some background on the life in the region before invasion.
On the display in the outdoor exhibition are three tanks (T34,SU100 and M41) one aircraft (Hawker Sea Fury) and some wrecks of the invaders aircrafts (B26) and boats
The entry fee is 2CUC (in 2013) and 1 CUC for camera.
The acompanying texts are in Spanish and English (some incorrect and funny translations are present).
The whole exhibition is bit heavy on the communistic propaganda which is a shame as this would be interesting even without it.response / report this review
