This place could have gotten a 5 star for their breathtaking water, scenery, beautiful beach, unlimited drinks & friendly staff but that’s about it. The food was mediocre & often times undercooked (we were warned about Cuba & their food prior too but even with our own seasonings, it still wasn’t that good). The rooms were abysmal!!! Always dirty, cockroaches everywhere (I know this is common in warm climates but it was a bit too much). Barely ever running water! It was terrible. Although sunwing is a different company (I think) they had a station in the hotel lobby selling excursions and one of the staff lied to us about what the dolphin excursion included, so the kids couldn’t even swim with the dolphins. Also every drink we got was sooo watered down, badly mixed and just served like milk and rum, but because they were unlimited, we just didn’t bother to complain.
They could honestly completely upgrade this entire hotel and it wouldn’t even take much. It should be listed as a 1 star hotel but because the staff if absolutely amazing and it’s not their fault, they really do work and are so sweet trying to make your experience better, they were the only reason this place got stars at all.response / report this review -

I wish I could live there ALL year round. Staff is fantastic.. it couldn't be more perfect there. Enjoy if you go!

Super fantastic service sit on a beach chair and have cool drinks brought to you ! wow fantastic !. And the lobby bar, while common in this part of Cuba is super! Would be a great addition to any other all inclusive Caribbean resorts. The food here was good, infrastructure a bit run-down, but the service was beyond reproach. Quite possibly the nicest beach on the planet. All staff go above and beyond to please guests. Highly recommended.
