Best place to eat in Havana, although a little bit too expensive comparing to the other places. But it is worth it. For the restaurant, make a reservation 2 months prior, this place is always full and it w be impossible to have a table if you go directly. Although, If don’t have have a reservation your alternative would be to go the Bar in the terrace where you will have an espectacular view of the old city. The bar is super modern and has really nice cocktails! It also has a small tapas menu. I tried all the items of this menu and they all are very tasty. This is a spot you will need to visit if you travel to Havana!

Highly recommended to me by everyone that has been to Havana. Worth it just for the walk up the stairs. The food is good, especially for Cuba and the service is attentive and friendly. Seemed very touristy but nothing more than I expected. Lovely last night to an Incredible trip in Cuba.

I had really high expectations for this place and was really looking forward to our meal here. Unfortunately, I was immensely disappointed by the food (and the drinks). While I am aware that Cuba does not have the best options for dining, we actually had a much tastier and richer meal at other, less fancy (but still decent) restaurants. We had the tacos as starters, which were such a disappointment, flavour-wise. The lobster as a main was O.K. and the pork which was recommended, was rather bland. The setting is beautiful, and we had a lovely table. Overall, overpriced for the food and drinks, would probably recommend the place for a drink at sunset.

Highly recommended as a wonderful place to have dinner on the patio or inside. The steak was delicious and well prepared. I'd lean away from the chocolate sauce on the beef; while innovative, the flavors did not mesh well. Nice wine selection and excellent service.

Unique gem in Havana. The architect did a fantastic job in building restoration. Not only the restaurant atmosphere, but also the food was fabulous.
You can stay there as long as you want and have great moments by just looking at the pictures and details on restaurant walls.
Food is a bit pricy for Cuba, but is worth the experience. Better to book a table in advance.

We started our trip here and I am SO GLAD we did! Yes, this is pricier than your average Havana restaurant, but the food, service, and atmosphere makes it totally worth the price tag. Make sure to make a reservation well in advance :)

Definitely much above the standard of other restaurants I visited during our short stay in Havana, yet there are still places to improve. The drinks were OK yet I had better ones in much cheaper places in Havana.
The starters were really great. We had eggplant caviar, green salad with goat cheese and onion soup. And a selection of bread. All of those were super tasty and nicely served. Highly recommended. For main courses we had rabbit stew, cooked fish and beef tenderloin. The beef was of very good quality and came with three interesting and tasty sauces. On the bad side is that our request to have meat done medium rare was not fulfilled, it was rare. That was not a no-go to us though, so we did not request another portion. The rabbit stew was very good. I would not recommend the fish. It was mediocre as for Mediterranean sea basin standards.

The place itself is splendid. It features
    colonial furniture, antique cutlery.
    ‎Service was very good.

La Guarda is located in a beautiful building.
We went there without a reservation and the restaurant was full :(. So make sure to make a reservation before you go.
We ended up eating and drinking at the rooftop bar that's on the third floor. The view is amazing and the drinks are good. Food is a little pricey IMO.

Still recovering from how good this place is. The building is stunning, the decoration, the bathroom, the food Don't go without a reservation tho- we needed to book twice as one day in advance wasn't enough. Expensive for Cuban prices but worth it. We shared a starter, had 2 mains, shared a side dish and a desert + 2 beers = CUC 65

Really beautiful space, especially right as you enter the building. I walked in no problem without a reservation, but it was before it got too busy (6/7 pm).

Absolutely stunningly beautiful, with great service and history. Don't miss the top floor bar - and even higher roofdeck. (If you're afraid of heights, maybe take a pass.)

This place required reservations which we made almost 2 months in advance before arriving in Havana. When we entered there was a fabulous 2nd floor was even more glamorous Hall was lovely arches. The views over the side of The balconies were also amazing. Prior to dining we went to the lounge bar which was the roof top. It had a plush purple lounge sofa a great bar great service in an open air seating area. This all overlooked old Havana and head a kind of Art Deco lighting added to the nostalgia. Finally after our cot tills it was time for our dinner where we were escorted back to another level. We set in a quaint nook with Stained glass windows and shutters viewing art across the way. ,We had some mackerel fish tacos for an appetizer. This was probably the tastiest thing that was served and I could have eaten it all night. The bread was also very good fresh hot out of the Oven. I had Grilled snapper topped with peppers and banana chips alongside of salted vegetables. My friend had baked chicken rice and beans which were ample .The food was prepared well and displayed .It is however very apparent that they lack many spices herbs and seasoning in their country. Or they are very light handed using it as this was the case in pretty much all the places I ate at in Cuba. We were constantly asking for salt and pepper to add to our meals. Other than that we were pretty much satisfied and content with the authentic tastes . This place probably has the best ambience, atmosphere Quality of food and service .

Place manages to feel posh in a way that I've never experienced posh before. lol Food was good. Staff is well-organized. Missed the daytime view from the roof but I imagine its very nice. I came away satisfied.

This is a cool building and the restaurant has great service (once you are in the restaurant). The food is not much better than what you get at a good paladare in Havana and the ambience is not really in keeping with the ethos of the city. The initial seating by the host was quite rude and she kept us waiting on the stairs because we were 10 minutes early for our reservation. Use some common sense and seat us at the bar immediately. Overall, this is a tourist place to "be seen". You won't see any Cubans eating there.

I've been lucky enough to eat here 3 times. The food is always great and the atmosphere is incomparable. First time I went they honored my request for balcony seat, the second time me and my group had our own area, and the last time they had added a rooftop bar overlooking a new outdoor dining area.

All of the food is good, but you didn't come this far to eat chicken.

A great place to dine. The food was incredible and the staff is both attentive and very friendly. Don't let the exterior fool you. The restaurant located on the third floor and the rooftop bars are beautiful. The combination of great food, people and place make it a truly enjoyable experience.

Oh La Guarida how we love you! My girlfriend and I visited here in January and had tuna tacos that were possibly some of the best tacos we have ever had. We actually ordered ANOTHER round of them, even with entrees. The ambiance, the decor and the service are truly amazing. You MUST eat here.

Came here and was seated on the balcony on an absolutely scorching day! My back was burnt but the view made up for it. The ropa vieja was divine and probably the best in the city. Highly recommend this place. Bear in mind, the rooftop bar does not open until 6PM.

Unbelievable. Exquisite. Without compare. Havana's finest restaurant. You can make an online reservation I would recommend you do so immediately after you know the dates you will be in Havana. The spiny Lobster in creamy rice is amazing.
President Barack Obama dying to hear on his Cuban visit. As did Beyonce and Jay-Z and Rihanna had her Annie Leibovitz photo shoot for vanity Fair's cover on the famous stairway in their entry.
I just watched Emeril Lagasse visit on his new TV series of finest restaurants around the world. I was expecting the price to be high but dinner for 3 with appetizer entree and dessert 150 US dollars.
