the hotel is very far from the city centre and the taxi costs about 8CUC. Also the swimming pool was always dirty and nobody cares of cleaning it. I was disappointed for the quality given. It's better to get a casa particulares in the city centre.
New but still wanting. Don't stay on a Saturday night the square it is next to just vomit out seriously load music that not even the locals enjoy. Breakfasts Limited. Just the one roach! Old building RE camped but not well enough for the standard asking price.
I agree that one will be better off doing a homestay instead of staying at a state-run hotel. It was disappointing for the price paid. Cleanliness was below expectations and the hotel didn't have water supply for 6 hours each time on 2 out of the 3 days that we were there. It was very inconvenient as I couldn't shower on the first night and after horse riding on the next day. However food was decent at the restaurant which has nice service staff too.
A gem in Vinales Valley. Immaculate facility and grounds. With two pools, two bars and an excellent restaurant, this was a relaxing stop in the middle of a hectic week in Cuba. Most notably, the lobby bar features fantastic mojitos and super cold beer. The rooms are well appointed and air conditioned with plenty of hot water. Highly recommended.
When traveling around Cuba you'll be far better off staying with at a private family at a Casa Particular. The service and food is way better than in the state-run hotels.
Originally we had booked (and payed) a stay at "La Ermita" but they sent us away to this hotel due to overbooking. Complaints were unheard.
Excellent accommodations and area. A must see.
