After 16 days in Cuba I look back at this place to be the best for service, quality and value for money by far !

Great hidden gem off Plaza del Cristo. Extremely cheap, with huge portions. My favourite restaurant in Old Havana. Be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes or more; there's almost always a line. Worth the wait!

First I have to address the issue of the waiting for the table- that place is extremely popular so we waited about 45-55 minutes for a table in the terrace. Place was full so service took some time too. The starters weren't that good but main dish was fine. Cocktails are generous with alcohol. In the end, wasn't worth the wait. Recommend if there's no line or if you're not hungry and don't mind the wait.

Best hidden secret of Havana. This place is amazing! Great local dishes and drinks at unbelievable cheap prices. Be ready to wait 15-25 minutes to be seated but it will be definitely worth it. We visited this place twice and we enjoyed it a lot.

Hands down our favorite meal in Havana! The service was slow, but order a drink (2-3CUC), sit back, relax and enjoy your vacation!

Really great place to try local dishes.

The price is a bit higher than in other places but it's totally worth it. We went there 3 times during our stay in Havana.

On the negative side, you should expect long queues to get a table, especially the big groups of people.

They killed it with this one, affordable, large portions, and healthy. Line up out the door - menu is only in Spanish

El Chanchullero served some of the best food we had in Cuba. We visited the restaurant twice and weren't disappointed on either occasion

One of the best foods I had in Havana, also, the cocktails were exceptional. Prices are very cheap in comparison with what they offer. The atmosphere is dynamic and fun. A must go place. I am attaching the menu as of November 2017 and pictures of sopa de maiz, pescado dish and ropa vieja

Nice variety and portions of food. Some standard Cuban fare along with more inventive recipes. Prices are wonderfulmore "local" pricing than tourist pricing that you get in many other restaurants. Super friendly staff that especially for Cuba were attentive and quick. When looking for this place, just go to the Plaza del Cristo on the Teniente Rey (Brasil) side of the street and ask locals as there is no signif you ask where the sign is, you get a shrug. ;-) We went for a late lunch and it was not crowded, but we hear there are often lines so plan accordingly.

Cocktails are excellent (piña colada and daiquiri - avoid blue lagoon/ Laguna azul) for under 3 CUC. Had some bad pork here but the appetisers are great (pepino con cangrejo, tapas de tomate)

Good and cheap food. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Havana, staff will notice you here and be friendly not like in most of the restaurants in Havana.

Great cocktails, good atmosphere, reasonable food and all that at very reasonable prices. The special of the day was lobster, the flavor of which was hard to recognize due to the way it was prepared.

This place doesn't open until 1pm and by the time it opens the line is so long every seat is full. Food is inexpensive and outstanding.

This place was fabulous. If I ever make it back to Havana I will definitely come back. My group was able to get the last available table and the place was completely full, however the wait staff and kitchen were able to serve us promptly with great food and drinks. DEFINITELY GET THERE EARLY as there were people waiting outside in the rain for about 45 minutes while we were there.

First and best meal in Havana City. Be prepared to wait if you don't arrive before 12:30 when they open for lunch. Wait isn't too bad if you are two people. Amazing meal. Tried the ropa vieja and the shrimp dish. Cocktails are delish and cheap! Definitely a must try! Cheap and good eats!
