Vista Hermosa Estate was truly an unforgettable experience for our family of 18 - the Janzen crew! We could not have asked for a better house/pool set up, the location was gorgeous (views & wildlife galore each day), the food was beyond delicious, the beach nearby was perfect, and most importantly - the staff at Vista Hermosa was second to none; Susan, Javier, Jose, Gabi & Anabel welcomed us like their own family. Thank you so much to all for our time together!

In one single word, our stay at Vista Hermosa Estate was incredible!! By far, this was the best vacation we have experienced in a very long time. We shared the estate with seven couples who made the experience unforgettable. Did I mention the private chef and delectable cuisine he prepared for us every night? We felt like we were the rich and famous eating at a five-star restaurant! The staff at Vista Hermosa were friendly, competent, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had a wonderful vacation. The rooms were extra clean and comfortable, the main gathering space upstairs was clean and well stocked with our favorite snacks and drinks. We were able to enjoy the beautiful views from the infinity pool and relax and listen to music, or visit local shops and restaurants to experience the culture of Manuel Antonio. The concierge was friendly and very helpful and arranged all of our exciting excursions. I really cannot say enough about this beautiful and amazing estate. It was simply paradise! We will definitely be back with our family and friends. I encourage anyone looking for an unforgettable experience to stay at Vista Hermosa Estate- you will not be disappointed!!

What do you want your story to be when you return from the most serene vacation you ever experienced? Our story had an itinerary that included one essential element and that was “Relaxation”. We couldn’t get enough of this exquisite destination that we had to return to paradise. Vista Hermosa was the epitome of peacefulness where you can immerse yourself in the wonders of nature with the sounds of the rainforest that welcomes you each morning. Whether it was a couple’s massage or yoga overlooking the turquoise waters and swaying palm trees or relaxing in an infinity pool under the glistening stars you can be sure that you will be pampered with tranquility.
The cuisine can be as much a part of your adventure when visiting Vista Hermosa. If you want to dive into the culture of Costa Rica there’s no alternative to Chef Javier and assistant Jose flavor-bursting Latin flare dishes with a style all it’s own. Breakfast always included fresh-brewed coffee to enjoy while having a conversation with the 7 couples that accompanied my husband and I. Yes, I couldn’t keep a secret so I extended the invitation to my special friends. Each day breakfast was savory and always beyond satisfying that was colored with in-season fruit. The 5 star dinners are not only attractive but are flavorsome and you will be wondering what is on tomorrow's menu before the night is over. Not to mention to leave room for dessert that include coconut flan, key lime cheesecake, or my favorite carrot cake with homemade cream cheese frosting just to name a few. You will never be disappointed!
My husband and I explored the first time we visited Vista Hermosa and went on different excursions, but this second time we explored with a little more composure. Whether you go for adventure or to unwind you will discover both. The concierge and staff are spectacular and will accommodate your captivating and majestic vacation that will be a never ending story.

Pure bliss and beauty once you enter the estate!! My husband and I spent a week at this gorgeous home with 7 couples and I can honestly say that this was by far one of our best vacations ever. The views, feel and essence of this home are 100% luxury, like a dream. While the home is quite large, we felt at home the whole time. Our group spent lots time on the top floor, enjoying delightful and delicious meals prepared by Chef Javier and his assistant Jose, taking in the breathtaking views and basking in the extremely luxurious infinity pool. At the end of our days, our suite was peaceful and so comfortable, giving us the rest we needed. There is a private walkway from
the house to the pristine beach, giving us the pleasure of experiencing the natural surroundings at its best! The ocean temperature is divine. The Manuel Antonio area is so beautiful and the locals made us feel like a part of them. So many great excursions to partake in. The Vista Hermosa Estate was an amazing vacation location for our family of 17. It is beautiful and classy, with incredible views of Manuel Antonio Beach. The amenities are wonderful, from the warm and friendly concierge, the outstanding chef Javier and assistant Jose, to the pleasant housekeeping staff. The staff really allows you to feel at home and the local animals (monkeys, parrots, iguanas) that visited around the house, kept a smile on our face the entire trip. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation experience in this beautiful country. We will definitely plan to return to Vista Hermosa soon!

3 hours from san Jose, a hike to the beach but ocean view, fantastic service, beautiful location with patio bar, climate controlled kitchen / dining, climate controlled rooms and beautiful open spaces.

My second visit here and the verdict isSTILL AWESOME! From the incredible views at the home that overlook the beach to the warmth of the locals, you'll be bathed with a sense of serenity. I had a chance to stay with 11 other friends and we made the most of it. We soaked up the local excursions (e.g. parasailing, a catamaran trip, hiking, off-roading in ATV's, visits to the beach, massages, local shopping, etc.) and relaxed, swam and partied at Vista Hermosa. The beautiful vacation home is huge but cozy. Our group would party on the top floor, where there's plenty to do. The top floor has the dining area, infinity pool and bar/dance floor. We spent a lot of time listening to music and lounging in the pool (there's an iPad where you have access to endless music). The home also comes with an incredible chef who cooks with fresh and local ingredients. His dishes were creative and absolutely delicious.
Too much fun to mention but a word of caution, don't overindulge or you'll waste a day in paradise! As the locals say, 'Pura Vida!'response / report this review -

Imagine yourself relaxing with a view of a tropical sunset while listening to an abundance of wildlife as you reside in a stunning premiere destination of Vista Hermosa Estate. There will be no spa music needed for us as we experienced a sensual couple’s massage with the sounds of rushing water approaching the shore with a vision of a legendary beach from this vacation home. We enjoyed a 5 Star Restaurant in the comfort of this home as Javier prepared delicious meals with a Costa Rican flavor! The outdoor adventures are limitless from hikes through the thriving forests with a mystical waterfall as your final destination, taking a boat out into the glistening clear waters, or taking the trail from the home to run on a glassed sand shore. All of these exciting experiences and so much more can be planned when you stay at the Vista Hermosa Estate. This vacation left my husband and I breathless. Your stay will leave you with an everlasting memory.. your only limit will be your return date!

Vista Hermosa is simply spectacular! You must see in person to truly understand the amazing beauty this house offers. From beginning to end this house offered everything for our large group. I would say the my favorite part of this amazing vacation was the infinity edge pool and chef Javier. His meals were beyond 5 star I would give it 10 stars if I could. I am defiantly coming back, I left my heart in Costa Rica. "Pura Vida"

Me and my husband visit Vista Hermosa Private Estate back in March 2017 with a good group of friends. We were there to celebrate 33 years of marriage. It was the most beautiful place I have ever visit. Service was amazing, food was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay in Costa Rica. If you never been it's the place to go. The View was amazing, the beach was beautiful, we did some excursions, partying can't wait to go again. I can't find one reason to complained about anything. I cant wait to visit again.

Phenomenal. Breathtaking. First class. These are three words that can barely describe the experience my family had a Vista Hermosa Estate. The entire experience was absolutely wonderful; Shiona; the concierge, the personal chef team, and the cleaning crew were very personal and exceptionally friendly to all of us. The air-conditioning bedrooms were wonderful and extremely comfortable. There isn't a single angle in or outside of the house that doesn't have a beautiful view of the ocean or rain forest. This will absolutely be the location my family goes to the next time we vacation in Costa Rica.

You won't be disappointed. We have traveled around the globe (Africa, Europe, Britian, South Pacific, Australia, North America to name a few) and this is one of our favourite places on earth. The house is incredible with spectacular views over Manuel Antonio beach. Wake up to the sounds of wildlife or watch an afternoon thunderstorm under a covered balcony. Surf the waves at your doorstep or swim in the infinity pool. Our entire family & extended family had an incredible time. The food was amazing, prepared by Javier & Karina and included some of the local flavours & tastes to experience a little of the Costa Rican culture. Shiona was incredibly helpful co-ordinating tours, the menu as well as medical assistance, not sure what we would have done without her expertise and ability to translate. Words just can't describe the scenery and pictures just don't do it justice. This is one destination you have to include on your bucket list!

Most relaxing vacation EVER!!!
Staying at the Vista Hermosa Estate was like staying at our own private hotel! Upon arrival we were instantly impressed by the architecture and beautiful design. This place is breathtaking! There is a fabulous view from any room you are in and that's including the shower! The top floor was amazing! The pictures can't even do it justice. The view of the jungle and ocean is heavenly. My family had a vacation we will never forget. Once in a lifetime for most.
It was by far the most relaxing vacation. I didn't have to grocery shop, cook, clean, and our laundry was even done for us! Shiona was our concierge and was so great. She was always a phone call away if we needed anything. I called for a few groceries and they were delivered to us in less than 10 minutes! She was so helpful and knowledgeable with the area as well. Javier and Karina were our own private chefs. They did the grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning! They were a dynamic duo in the kitchen. Every meal was beautifully plated and delicious! Desserts were to die for. Not only were Javier and Karina amazing cooks, they were great people too. They felt like part of our family by the time we left. Judith and Isabel were such sweet ladies who kept our rooms nice and clean. They even did our laundry if we wanted them to.
The excursions were great. But honestly, we were perfectly fine staying at the Estate. We really enjoyed the beach. They had everything we needed including boogie boards. The beaches were beautiful and the walk down to the beach through the jungle was pretty incredible. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. It exceeded all of our expectations. If you hate a beautiful house with spectacular views & beaches and don't want to have an amazing vacation, then this place is not for you.
The rooftop has the best panoramic view of Manuel Antonio Beach. Along with the beautiful view, the rooftop also has top notch entertainment; the infinity pool in the middle (perfect place to relax), bar on the left (this where I had the most fun), an ice maker on BOTH sides (super convenient), refrigerators on BOTH sides, TWO restrooms, great sound system, TV's on BOTH sides and a dining area that tops just about everyplace I've EVER been to (including all fancy restaurants). The random visits from the monkeys were very enjoyable, it's something we never get to experience in Southern California or just about anywhere else for that matter. We were lucky to see a sloth on 1 of the days.
The chefs are also very talented and make you feel like a celebrity. Every meal was amazing and their deserts were delicious.
The room we stayed in was also nicer than just about every hotel I've ever stayed at. THE BEST THING ABOUT THE ROOM TO ME WAS THE SHOWER, IT ALSO HAD A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE OCEAN. I don't think I will ever be able to a shower that will top it.
WiFi throughout the entire building was also very helpful and convenient. The yoga area was great, especially for someone like me who loves to exercise. The view from there just made it much more enjoyable.
The private trail to the beach was also very entertaining itself. I mean we were literally in a forest and the walk itself felt like a enjoyable mini hike. One morning after jogging the beach, I walked back up and saw tons of monkeys.
The beach is also beautiful and is now my favorite beach in the world (I live in San Diego and have been to many other beaches in Hawaii). I enjoy surfing and this place is an excellent place to surf and has NO SHARKS (unlike Hawaii & California). Also drinking did not seem to be a problem on the beach, in fact there were some places along the beach that would that would serve you drinks and food. Also many of places offering surfboard rentals and lessons along the beach.
The location of the house is also great one, there are plenty of restaurants that are walking distance or a cheap taxi ride away from.
I could go on forever about this place, but it still does fulfill the full justice of actually staying there.response / report this review -
