Our whole family had a great time riding with Diego. The beach in Esterillos is beautiful and the horses were great with each of the riders in our party.

Fantastic time, highly recommend. Diego does a great job instructing riders and making sure all riders are safe. The horses are gentle and well-trained. He will work with all ages and all skill levels and provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy his horses and the beautiful Esterillos area. We took a 2 hour beach ride with 2 inexperienced 12 year old riders, 2 inexperienced adults, and 2 adults with a lot of experience. All of us had a fabulous time, each horse was selected for our abilities and Diego gave personalized instruction to each rider. I would definitely return and recommend Diego and his horses. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

This was the highlight of our Christmas vacation!! I would give Diego and his crew 10 stars. After a minor mix up with the time Diego sent a taxi to our hotel, called me personally in the taxi, and had his brother drive us back after a refreshing drink at the Hotel Pelicano (Thanks Mark from Minnesota). The horses were very well cared for. The sunset was perfection! I would recommend Diego and the Riding Adventure to everyone who visits Costa Rica!!!

These horses love Diego and are clearly loyal to him, but are conditioned to allow for some independence so their rider can have their own experience. The saddles are fitted, well padded and are not only beautifully made, but also worn nice n smooth. He handmakes his own halter and bitless bridles. (Smart, effective and humane!) Their feet are trimmed and healthy, their eyes calm and content. Just watch Diego go around his horses, how he tacks them up, how they stand calmly for him. This is a horseman who is in it for his love of horses. If you want a barn with fancy stalls and landscaping and clipped horses, you're expectations of the Costa Rican ranch are way off. We felt very safe with him. Gentle guidance with a sparkle of kindness in his eyeand clearly the community loves him too, judging by the personable greetings he received from everyone we encountered. The food and view were fantastic (see photo)! The tour is very informal and adapted to the demands of that day so don't expect a choreographed itinerary. Go with the flow and allow yourself to savor the contagious joy of horses with Diego. Thank you, Diego for a dream-come-true ride! (And Happy Birthday, David Bowie! Rest in peace)

THIS IS NOT OK. Please do not support this treatment of animals. These are the horses left at the site after I refused to ride on Diego’s beach trip. I can’t believe so many people said this company is reputable. I was fooled. Once they left, I took the saddles off and gave the horses water. They were so thirsty and I found saddles sores on all of them. It is not ok to support this company. My heart is broken for these poor horses.

Well-mannered horses - great for all levels - the most beautiful horseback ride on the beach - great for photos and sun - horses are lovely - Diego is a great tour guide, knowledgeable and bilingual! Cannot beat this price! Highly recommended

Diego and Gustavo were excellent guides on our horseback ride. True professionals, extremely friendly and informative, ended with a great meal at a small restaurant on the beach. We have eight of us in our family and all of our levels were accommodated: highly recommend!

I had an awesome time on the tour with Diego and his horses. He's a super friendly guy who knows what he's doing and does his best to accommodate everyone's wishes. I can definitely recommend this tour for anyone who loves horses and would like to experience riding them on the beach.

This tour, was without question, the best part of our trip to Costa Rica. The beach and the views were absolutely breathtaking, the horses were also beautiful and Diego was the most wonderful guide. He took me and three of my girlfriends to a beach with views that I imagine are only comparable to heaven! He was thorough in his instructions and made sure that we were safe at all times - and he is hilarious and ensures that everyone is having a great time! After a beautiful ride, we sat down for a delicious lunch with artisanal beer. The whole experience was truly magical.
Thank you Diego for an incredible time and wonderful memories. This really was the most exceptional moment of the trip for all of us. We are extremely grateful and look forward to another tour on our next visit!

I have known Diego for over 10 years and have watched him build up his wonderful riding tour. Incredible ocean and jungle riding experience with excellent horses and Diego is an incredible guide, matching each riding experience with your group. Best riding tour in Costa Rica!

Diego is the man, super friendly and knowledgeable about horses. The horses are chill, but you have to actually ride them vs. letting them lope along. Good times.

An experience you do not want to miss out on while in Manuel Antonio. There could not be anything more beautiful than riding along secluded white sandy beaches and under palm trees into the sunset. Diego is a fantastic guide and host. Recommended for all levels and definitely a treat for a romantic occasion if you do a private tour arrangement. 100% Pura Vida!

Diego is an excellent tour guide and has a lot of knowledge. His horses are good taken care of and makes sure that even people who have never been on a horse before feel comfortable and safe. I enjoyed a relaxed sunset ride on a beautiful beach and can definitely recommend The Riding Adventure!
