I stayed here on the last night of my two week holiday in Costa Rica. The room was excellent but what was disappointing was the breakfast, in particularly having to use plastic cups for the juice and the coffee, couldn't believe there were no glasses or cups/mugs at a four star hotel, quite shocked at this. The only other dislike was the prostitutes in the bar which was not good, why are they allowed in? The service in the bar was also poor but only visited it once so may not have been the norm.

Friendly, helpful staff. First visit to Costa Rica exceeded expectations. Central location close to museums and national theater. Good restaurant and bar in the hotel with an exceptional 5 star restaurant across the street. Would highly recommend this place to stay in San Jose, C.R.

Horrible experience. Horrible maintenance in the rooms. The air conditioner went out and the rude maintenance worker pretty much said it wasn't his problem. The water barely gets that hot in the rooms. The bathrooms on the 2nd floor look like they were decorated in the 1970's and look very old with a bathtub that was disgusting to look at. The elevator looks like it was just redone with spray paint on the inside of it. The casino games are a joke but the worst part about the place is how freely PROSTITUTES just roam the property and how i see guests checking in prostitutes at the front desk to bring them to their rooms. This hotel is nothing more than a brothel and the surrounding neighborhood is very unattractive and dangerous as there are homeless people and transvestites right outside the hotel.

Very impressed with new place. I was around from way back when it was Clarion amd Mona Lisa. They made it a 4 star hotel.

The accommodations and staff are great and everything is clean; however, as a first time visitor to Costa Rica, you will be shocked at how open and accepted it is for prostitutes to roam the property. The majority of the guests are old men who are there for the girls. I would have given 3 stars, but as a woman, I did not the feel like they cared about my comfort as much as they did of the old men. This is a place to avoid if you're a woman.

I stayed here before and it was always great friendly staff and very clean. Convenient location. I Newly renovated rooms with central AC made it more pleasant for my recent stay. No complaints I stayed here 8 nights I wish I could have stayed longer.

Great location for booking a holiday as a single person going to San Jose. Exceptional service, great bartenders, casino, and very good security. The favorite casino game for me and my date was roulette. They have the option of small denominations so we played for quite a while and enjoyed the casino atmosphere and drink service. The free breakfast for two is a nice benefit and the restaurant that opens onto balconies on two sides is a great way to enjoy the tropical weather of Costa Rica.

Think about this as a low end Holiday Inn. For the price, it's a totally legit hotel in San Jose
