Oh Lord, so many unfortunate things happened here, that it's too many to list. Unfortunate.
After 15 mins at the bar the tender still didn't ask if we wanted anything. She clearly was stressed and was barking at her waiters in front of everyone.
Finally seated, it took 25 minutes before the waiter returned to take an order. I actually left, bought some water from down the street and came back with it.
Once we ordered, the drinks took another 20 minutes And came out wrong. Reordered and that was delivered quickly.
Once the food came, 45 minutes after ordering it, they delivered the wrong items. He comped the order and brought the correct items later, but what a debacle.
I would have submitted that perhaps this was unique, but I saw the same delays happen to other tables as well as mixed up of food/beverages. All that to say, the food was just okay. If it were better I might be able to forget some of the other transgressions.
Goodness - though there are some good reviews here, be careful and if it's busy, rethink this one.
Great place for an afternoon snack, we just had chips, salsa, guac and drinks. Many choices of salsa.
The virgin smoothie drinks are quite exotic being blended with fresh herbs. Mango with basil, strawberry with mint. Exotic and elegant for adults, but "yuck, there's green stuff in my drink" from the kids. Probably best to order without the herbs for kids.
Good, extensive menu. Burrito was good and the nachos with beef were delicious. The staff could be friendlier. We didn’t get the sides we ordered. Craft beers available and cocktails but no drinks menu so difficult to know what is on offer. Overall we had a good lunch!
I had their sampler of 6 tacos it was okay. Food is a 3/5, ambiance 5/5, service 4/5. Ambiance is clean, lovely with indoor and outdoor balcony seating, drink options and overall food options are good. Prices are reasonable. Service is great.
Was looking forward to this place as the reviews were great. I ordered a frozen lemonade (promptly forgotten by waiter) and veggie nachos. When food arrived it was completely cold. The cheese was melted, but the broccoli was raw, the few refried beans there were were cold. Not appetising at all.
After reminding and no apology, drink arrived just before I finished my food.
It’s a nice venue and some of the food did look good. They just got it majorly wrong on this occasion.
Fantastic breaded avocado with jalapeño ranch sauce! So tasty! Place was very busy with the lunch crowd. Very nice minty lemonade too. Just off the main road with lots of seating options. Wanted to try a few more things off that menu!
Great food and drinks. Good atmosphere. Only drawback was 2 people working, one behind bar and other serving and taking orders for all inside and outside seating, so if busy you should expect a wait
Food was good, but they did not have corn tortillas or avocados available. If this is a staple of your menu, it would be very easy to go to a nearby grocery store and get those things, especially for vegetarians and gluten free people. Drinks and beef tacos were good, but the grilled corn was very dry and flavorless.
Excellent place, slightly hidden. Food is excellent and so are all the sauces. Large portions - I highly recommend the baja avocado tacos and frozen limeade. Came back here a second time! Staff are also very nice.
Nice place. Good food. Enthusiastic waitresses.
So delicious and inexpensive. Portions are HUGE! I had the Baja avocado taco and it was delicious. Each item comes with a side of chips and salsa. We did the math and two meals is equal to the price of one at our local taco joint back in Toronto Ontario.
Great food, live music, good craft beers.
Easily some of the best tacos I’ve had in my life and couldn’t image a better backdrop for lunch
Not the most amicable waiter/bartender and the portions were small considering they were on the "larger-end" (3 tacos). Considering they used store bought tortillas, the pulled beef with mango was quite flavorful. Minimum tortilla served and a teaspoon portion of salsa.
Had the avocado burrito & was super tasty. Service was so-so. Not the friendliest when I approached & asked for drinks menu but then later they were super friendly so no idea but food made it worthwhile.
Delicious chicken tacos, beer and friendly staff! The staff are all welcoming and speak English well - which was great for us as our Spanish was limited! Great value for money and lovely balcony seating which was perfect shelter during a rain storm as we could admire the forest!
Food is fantastic here if you are looking for Mexican food!! Tacos are absolutely the best I've tried! Worth the price if you don't mind spending a little more!
Practically no pork in our Al Pastor burrito. Maybe one ounce of pork at best. 99.5% rice and beans. Tasted good for a rice and beans burrito. Very touristy place.
Only my opinion. When I get Al Pastor I always want it as I remember throughout Mexico, cheap and amazing taste. The tacos here are about $3 a piece, flour tortilla instead of corn and "fancy" ingredients like relish.
The meat can be salty, be sure to eat it with the taco shell and veggies! Other than that, it was a great dining experience- the owner's friendly and the food authentic. Definitely give it a try while you're here!
Great lunch spot. Great food and cheap prices. Long line and you're sitting on the side of the busy, dusty street. Still worth it!
Cash only. Delicious food if you're looking for a break from rice, beans and plantains. We had the pork burrito which was really tasty. Downsides are that you're sitting on the side of an extremely busy and steep road so all the trucks and motorbikes are revving hard to get up the road. Also lots of backpackers seem to hang out here from the hostel next door.
