We popped in for cake and coffee on the way back from monteverde cloud forest. The cinnamon bun was one of the best I've had and the lime in the cream-cheese frosting on the carrot cake really added zing. My son had the passion fruit and mango pie and he deemed it delicious. The coffee was excellent too.

What a jewel of a place! It was such good fortune we happened upon Stella’s Bakery returning from the Cloud Forest. So impressive. The people were so kind and accommodating plus the baked goods the best we had tasted in Monteverde that we decided to go back for dinner.
The restaurant is charming with a gorgeous patio. We could not have been more impressed with the food or the service.
We highly recommend Stella’s. You will be impressed with certainty.

What a gem! Wonderful place to eat in Monte Verde. The food was delicious and the ingredients were very fresh and unique, and as they intended it to be the variety of food is very healthy. The pastries were also really good. Service was great. Sit outside to see birds that eat fruit that was left for them. We loved it. Highly recommended!

An excellent place for breakfast and bird watching. The staff will place bananas on a feeder to attract the wildlife and you can sometimes catch a monkey with the birds. Highly recommend you at least drop in for a coffee!

Lovely atmosphere, good menu and tasty baked goods. Sit on the back patio and watch the birds and white faced cappuchins come to the feeder. The Mexican soup was delicious.

Beautiful place. Must sit on the back patio and watch the birds fly by. Great pastries, the banana one is spectacular and the cinnamon roll with sugar cane glaze is good as well.

Pros: lovely atmosphere- ask to sit outside. The ice coffee hit the spot as did the lunch. once we got it.

Cons: After waiting almost an hour with no lunch in sight and not seeing our waitress or any wait staff we had to get up and ask about where our two sandwiches were the order was never put into the kitchen.

I would come here for lunch but expect slow service. After hiking all morning maybe our lunch would have tasted better if it did not take almost two hours for a wrap.

Grabbed a cheese and basil croissant to take as a snack while zip lining. The food was yummy but the croissant wasn't flakey and tasted more like a bread. Super friendly staff

We came in early for quick pastries, but were met with slow service and pale, unappetising pastries. On the plus side, the food was a bit tastier than we feared and they have good English skills. On the negative, they served a tall, male Spanish speaking tourist ahead of us despite the fact that we clearly preceded him. Service was inexplicably slow, both at the counter and to the table. I was particularly put off when the cashier, after quoting the bill in Colones, announced that she had just charged my card in dollars. I recommend that you find tastier fare at a better price with better service basically anywhere else.

Great spot for breakfast - it was stellar!
We found this spot in the Lonely Planet guide. We'd highly recommend sitting out back, waiting for the birds to visit the bird feeder whilst sipping the complimentary coffee and tucking into a great, wholesome breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Had a delicious lunch - toasted roll with chicken, salad and avocado. We also enjoyed a tasty carrot cake and coffee. Stella's has also other great lunch, warm food and breakfast options. Will definitely come back again!

Amazing service and just as amazing food. Prices were fair - we went 2 mornings in a row during our 2 night stay (even though there were many other options) but have no regrets.

Waited over 35 minutes after ordering for a basic breakfast. Don't go if your in a rush. There were only people on 2 other tables when we (group of 2) arrived.

Extremely quaint place with a bright and cheery atmosphere. The back patio was relaxing and a great place to bird watch. Staff was friendly. The food was well-prepared (two of us had the vegetable lasagna, one of us had the hummus wrap along with the avocado soup), but slightly bland.
