We stayed in Manzanillo for over 5 weeks. In that time we ate at every place in town multiple times, but none more often than El Rinconcito Alegre. The family who runs it is super awesome and friendly, and love their little slice of heaven. Such a cool place. The children, along with the other neighborhood kids play football right outside all day and night. People from all over the world exit the buses, travelers walk past, all as you're eating open air style. The food they serve is great. Everything tastes from scratch and is made with great care. Every dish we ordered was delicious and satisfying. And the empanadas are the best in Limon, and at 500 colones ($1) it makes for a excellent cheap and quick lunch. It's our favorite soda in CR, by far

This place is about a block of the beach and serves mostly locals. Not much to look at but they have very good food, compared to the other places, in town. The prices are also cheaper. Service was also good.

My wife and I had a breakfast and a lunch here. For breakfast we had the scrambled eggs with tomato and scrambled eggs with ham. Both were served with rice/beans. It was good and when I asked for Tabasco sauce they brought a homemade pepper sauce made with cucumber, onions and hot peppers. OMG this sauce was absolutely delicious! If there, you must give it a try. For lunch we had fish tacos and a burrito with a side of fries. The tacos were good plus they came with a side of coleslaw. The slaw was very good, light and refreshing. The burrito was the best thing I had there. The rice-bean-beef mix in the burrito was spiced with what I am not sure but it was delicious, especially coupled with the fresh soft cheese (not melted) on top. For entertainment we got to watch a sloth slowly climb a tree just across the street. So cool. The service here was also very very friendly and fast. They showed a lot of patience with my horrible Spanish. I plan to eat here again!
