  We found Snapper online and set up a lesson next-day for myself, my wife, and our 3 kids, ages 7, 10, and 12 years. Gustavo, Ryan, and Cato showed us a great time, starting with an informative dryland orientation followed by quickly getting us in the water. Despite none of us having ever tried surfing before, we were all able to catch some waves (with a little help from the experts). Every one of us had a great time, and I'd highly recommend if you're looking for a family activity in the Playa Avellanas area. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for the folks at Snapper. Fantastic!

  Snapper Surf School is the best! I had an amazing time! Gustavo really takes the time to help explain surfing and makes the whole experience easy for ALL experience levels. It was a great time and I cant wait to take another lesson. I HIGHLY recommend taking a class or going to surf camp!!! Cato is amazing also!! He helped me catch my very first wave and I can't wait to take more lessons with these two!

  Totally amazing! Gustavo and Cato know what they're doing and they make you feel comfortable immediately. This was my first time trying to surf and within minutes of being in the water, I was able to catch my first wave and ride it to shore! I cannot begin to describe feeling and I guarantee it is one I will be sure have again! I tell everyone it is a bucket list must have!
  If you have never tried surfing, or you are looking for an expert instructor-these guys are the real deal!
  If you are in the Playa Negra area, be sure to book a surf lesson!!
