Clean and all, but eating here is way too complicated or expensive.
Set lunch was okay. Better then in past, I hear.
They try to accommodate dietary preferences.
Bathrooms are clean and good.
Beer or soda is $4 per can.
There is a gift shop and the only solar panels I saw in Costa Rica.
Clean and welcoming, also enjoyed an excellent lunch
This tour is good but it is very long, especially on a hot day. There’s a 1-hr boat ride to and from (make sure you don’t suffer from motion sickness because it’s not a smooth ride). There’s no guarantee you’ll see everything you want but the guides are very eager to find different species to educate you about (including plants). You will have a great lunch at the main station halfway through the tour. It’s not suitable for young children as it’s a very long day in the heat (late December). I would only recommend this tour out of all tours (on land).
Worth the trip and overnight stay to be in this beautiful wilderness! The station kind of feels like a backpacker's hostel, because that's what it basically is. The food is pricey but good and cost helps to keep the facility up, I understand. Showers and drinking water are available. No need to bring camping gear as the bunk beds have a pillow and sheet (too hot for more in April). Ask for Ronaldo at Osa Wild to be your guide!
Amazing place to stay in heart of Corcovado National Park. Basic bunk beds with sheets, so no need to camp. You can buy meals and the food I'd very good. Many excellent hikes in the area, see wildlife, swim in rivers or ocean.
One of the top ecological research stations in Costa Rica, located in some of the best rainforest habitat in Central America. The flora and fauna here are unparalleled in what is available to be seen. Recently the station is rebuilding the tourist area with some new cabinas (still very basic, but at least an improvment to sleeping out front or on the tent deck.) If you go to Costa Rica and are looking for a real experience in the rainforest, this cannot be beaten.
I did the hike the ranger station along the beach several years ago. One of the best experiences I've had, beautiful birds, monkeys, and other animals.
Best nature preserve I've visited, very tough hike along the beach here from Puerto Jimenez, but the diversity of wild life I saw here it's priceless. Fabulous experience to visit this park. Top 1 recommendation in Costa Rica.
