Staff is friendly and the property is very well maintained, if you want a a resort like accommodation this place is great, but beware the kitchen is open all night, so every night it is raided by what I assume are drunk guests that take what ever they want of yours and leave a huge mess of dishes and half eaten food that doesn't get cleaned until after 9:30. So if you plan to cook breakfast be prepared for clogged sinks and dishes everywhere.

They show you all the facilities and then your room is in the other side that you need to cross the highway far from the pool, beach and kitchen.
We didn't have water at all the area for a night, in the evening so we couldn't shower and in the morning brush our teeth.
The staff attitude was very bad and disappointing with the situation.
We will definitely won't come back to Selina anymore.response / report this review -

Rooms are nice, the bar is adorable. It has a pool and a beach. As well as being within reasonable walking distance of both town and a great Beach. The kitchen they provide for cooking is also fantastic.

I had reserved a private room with a private bathroom, when I arrived at the Hostel, they seemed to have changed their system, and my reservation was not transferred over and they where overbooked. To make up for the mistake, they allowed me to stay in a new area they where building free of cost, I agreed as it is the New Years Weekend and it was impossible to find another hotel at this time. The room was a Tikki where bugs fell from the roof the entire night, we got bitten all over our bodies and had to kill the bugs all the time. During the day a stranger came into our Tikki, and we had to yell at him to leave (there are no doors). The bathroom where not habilitated and we had to use the main ones that were 100 meters from our room. The toilets were clogged the entire weekend we were there, with no hygiene, the showers where always dirty and the bathroom where beyond usable. The bar at the hostel plays loud music every night until 2 am, making it very hard to sleep. This was not a relaxing New Years Eve Weekend, we where stressed out the whole time between the bugs, lack of hygiene and excessive noise from the bar. I will no longer be staying at a Selina Hostel.

Great place. Friendly and accommodating staff. The only reason why I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is because the rooms are small and the bathrooms are shared/community (some rooms have bathrooms but not all). Other than that great place to relax and enjoy Puerto Viejo.

This is a very nice place. I had lunch and enjoy it a lot, very good hamburger. The place is set to have a good time just in front of the beach, great pool, table games, restaurant and bar for night life. The staff is very helpful and they will look forward to help you any time.

Muy bien ambiente, instalaciones y muy relajado. problemas con la comida a la hora de pedir, tardaron bastante y si ovacionó problemas a la hora de tomar el bus.

Un lugar cómodamente ubicado a las afueras de Puerto Viejo, a unos pasos de una playa de vista inigualable (imposible de nadar por la cantidad de rocas) y rodeado de la vida silvestre, por lo que no es raro encontrarse con insectos dentro y fuera de las habitaciones, así mismo como lagartijas en los pasillos y monos aulladores en los árboles.
Señal de internet fuerte y constante que abarca un poco más allá de la propiedad.

Nice area, but boring place. So quiet and no party or people hanging out in the common area. The bunk bed are very basic. The breakfast is overpriced and not good enough.

Um otimo Lugar. Tem piscina, em frente da praia, programação para os hóspedes. Não tem café da manhã incluso, mas pode comprar a parte.
