Nice place to practice hiking, you must wear waterproof cloths in case it rains, forest and the pure air are uncomparable, if you come near to San Jose, you should visit this place. Bring some snacks, collect your wastes and enjoy the nature.

Nice quiet walk, several different types of forests in this one area. The first part of the walk is very steep up hill, I suggest doing the loop in a clockwise direction. This means a steep beginning, but a gentle down hill most of the way back around. Going counter clockwise will result in an uphill climb most of the way and then a fast steep decent back to the parking area.
I believe Nationals were ~1000 colones and foreigners were ~2500 colones each.response / report this review -

Walk in a very mountainous, steep, rustic trails. Enjoy nature first hand. You can walk or run from 6 km to 14 km depending on the route you choose. Weather is coldish, about 10-15 C in December, and rains often but not for long, nor hard rain, so be prepared for that. We took hydrating drinks and a couple sandwichs. Worked well for us.

Uno de los parques más bellos, especialmente a los que les gustan los senderos. La flora y la fauna son increíbles. Una gran variedad de hongos de diferentes tamaños y colores. Recomiendo que lleve pantalón largo, sueta y paraguas con zapatos para caminar. La cuesta está muy empinada, pero también se puede subir en carro con los incapacitados o los ancianos para que disfruten ellos de la naturaleza también. Los domingos está muy lleno, pero el resto de la semana está bien tranquila.

Es un bosque encantador, con aire es puro y tiene unos paisajes muy hermosos. Sus senderos invitan a recorrerlos.
