Good food and drinks! Slightly pricy, but then again the waterfall is a big tourist attraction.
The food here tastes amazing! It is definitely satisfying after the hike back up the hundreds of stair steps from the base of the waterfall.
The only reason I knocked it down to four stars instead of five is simply because the prices are much higher than you might anticipate, especially considering the fact there is a $15 fee per person just to enter into the park, though the word park doesn’t seem to fit since the only trail available is for the singular experience of the waterfall.
After spending that money, it’s hard to want to spend a bunch afterwards on a post-hike snack. But the food and drinks truly are tasty! If you’re lucky, you might get to watch monkeys in the trees from the restaurant balcony.
This spot is inside the La Fortuna waterfall national park. The entrance is $15 but if you just want to eat, let the front desk know and they will get you in. This spot was pricey but the food and service made up for it.
Great place to eat after the long hike up! They make a great margarita, reasonable prices and good options for vegetarians!
Restaurante Rio Lounge was the perfect ending to our visit to the La Fortuna waterfall. The restaurant is on the property of the waterfall. Our group had 8 different meals and everyone was happy with their food. Portion sizes were good and the wait staff were very attentive. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to eat a meal while visiting the waterfall.
Food was really good and definitely hit the spot after the hike up and down to the waterfall. The service was very hospitable and nice. I would come back again for food if given the chance. The plates were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Worth the price.
Fabulous Ceviche!! I wish we would have taken a picture of the Tropical Ceviche! It was so good with plantain chips and fruit in the mix. We ate ceviche four out of 6 days and the Rio Lounge had the best. AND the banana daiquiris were better than JW Marriott's. Sorry Marriott. We love you but the Rio Lounge beat all other lunches!!! Worth the price of admission to the waterfall park.
