  A great little wildlife refuge but in my view the 5km hike to Quesera Beach isn't worth it. More than half of it is walking through open cow fields and even the part that goes through the forest is pretty sparse. The beach is small but really nice, but note that despite the map showing that you can hike the 5km to the beach and then walk back along the beach, it's impossible. The security guard at the beach told us that it's never passable, and that he's been trying to get the park to change the map. So you basically have to do the same 5km back, which really wasn't too interesting the first time and it's a pretty miserable schlep (lots of up and down hills and not a lot of shade). Aside from this recommendation, the rest of the preserve is great and you're guaranteed to see capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, deer, coati mundi, etc..

  Perfecto para pasar unos días muy agradables. Es lugar es super tranquilo, las casa o cabañas son bonitas y aceptables.
  Muchos animales y la playa es como una piscina.

  Cette réserve fut définitivement un de mes coups de cœur de notre séjour au Costa Rica. On sent que les animaux y sont à l'aise. Parc naturel, peu touristique (ce qui est pour moi un ''plus'') et bien entretenu. Ça vaut la peine d'y aller tôt le matin pour encore plus de tranquillité. Nous y avons vu plusieurs animaux dont des singes hurleurs, plusieurs magnifiques oiseaux, papillons, iguanes, etc. Le point de vue de la plage est magnifique aussi. Belle découverte!

  Excellent place to see flora & fauna. Trails well maintained. Got many excellent photos of birds, monkeys, and flowers. Beautiful.

  The bioluminescent beach was amazing, we got to see many animals in the wild amongst monkeys, deer and super cute pisotes.
