There's limited car access from the entrance to the official parking lot but the place is incredibly beautiful

It is a whole lot of hiking, be ready to walk in the jungle, rough terrain. It is absolutely beautiful at the bottom of the mountain at the waterfall, which makes the hike totally worth it. However, I would like to add that I am in fantastic physical shape and I was fine, but this is not a trip for the frail, elderly or obese. It's really a rough hike.

A short walk to a nice waterfall. Locals hangout. Bring bug spray.

Short, easy hike only 30 minutes from the hotels in San Jose. Well maintained trails with tables for a picnic. When the water is low enough, you can traverse the river easily to see the second waterfall. Low traffic, mostly locals, so you feel like you have the forest to yourself. Highly recommended for a 1/2 day in San Jose.
