Great spot away from the beach but only takes 2 minutes to walk to the beach. Quiet and away from the partying and loud people and music. Nice staff, clean and respectful. I have nothing I disliked about this hostel. Good Wi-Fi, private room has your own lock and shower/wc and it's well maintained.

A hostel that has everything you need and want. Close to a great supermarket with an atm in it. Close to the rest of town and so on. It's in a quiet area so at the hostel you can relax. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If I go back to Puerto Viejo I would go here again.

This hostel is the way you want it: the whole setup has been thought through. Stayed in 2 different private rooms, one with private bathroom room and one with a shared one. It seemed that there are 2 clean shared bathrooms for only 4 private rooms in the back building, which is great! Slept like a baby in both rooms, although they only have insect proofing instead of glass in the windows (actually one of the first windows I've seen which didn't have any gaps or holes in or next to the nets). Temperature in the rooms was perfect for sleeping at night. The staff is really friendly and there when you need them. Booked some extra nights after our initial stay!

Really cool place to stay at! The dorms feature a lot of useful amenities such as small fans, reading lamps and a/c sockets at every bed. Large lockers (bring your own lock though) will fit virtually every piece of luggage you have. The building is amazing - open air, but all windows fitted with nets to keep mosquitoes out.

Come as you are! I really enjoyed the week I stayed here in March 2017. Very friendly staff, very good quality standards. I wouldn´t doubt a second to visit them again if I have the chance. Oh! and very good music selection ;)

One of the best hostel I have seen, the kitchen is super size so multiple people can cook at the same time, free filtered water, super wifi. I was in the double bedroom which had the most comfortable mattress I've slept in CR. The owner is very knowledgeable and always willing to help.

Quite hostel with a good atmosphere located in Puerto Viejo. Rooms are comfortable and bathroom was always clean. It's a little bit inside the room, but acceptable. Staff was very kind in all situations. PAY ATTENTION: this hostel does not accept reservations, so be prepared to have a second option just in case. 😀

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Super clean, fantastic value, and super chill. Note that this isn't a party hostel, which I wanted because I wanted to get out and see what Puerto Viejo has to offer, but it's easy to meet people here and the common area is huge. Reception always has great recommendations for various activities to do and services to use (eg. if you need someplace to do laundry or if you want surfing lessons). Note that it is first come, first serve, but I was there during the low season, so was able to get a bed no problem. Stayed in a dorm, 4 to a room; there's also a fan for every bed since it gets hot at night. They try to keep it gender separate, but depending on availability you might need to be flexible, which was no issue for me at all. Good security as well. If you don't need all the fancy amenities and want to be close to all the restaurants, this is a great place.

Hostel was in good condition and clean, great water refill system, beds were comfortable. Unfortunately staff let this place down as I found most to be unhelpful unfriendly and not interested.
After reading some reviews from months ago most said staff were quite helpful and friendly so not quite sure if I experienced some new staff.

Everything is great (room, beds, showers, kitchen) except for some of the staff that are extremely unhelpful and rude, and the fact that there are a lot of mosquitos in the room

I stayed at 2 hostels before coming here and glad I found it! I originally was planning to stay for a night but it ended up being more. Best place to stay for your buck. I know Puerto Viejo is on the beach, but if you want to have a clean and modern place to stay, this is a no brainer.

Very friendly and easy going place. We stayed for a couple of days and loved it. Bicycles can be rented nearby, staff is great and very helpful. Once I come back, I will definately stay there again. Highly recommended!
