It's a very interesting place to learn about the history of 1856 war against William Walker. The Museum is small the building itself is a historical site and the exhibitions are very well done and tell you the story from the Costarican point of view.
I enjoyed this museum. The town is very nice as well.
Good place if you want to know about costarrican history
this Museum seems to get better each time that I go there it gives a good view of the Alajuela history. The staff is friendly and very informative. I wish that there was more in English but I realize that this is a big job for a small Museum. If you're ever in Alajuela and get caught in the rain it is a good place to pass the time. They also have good clean restrooms.
The exhibition is Spanish only.
It is a small museum, but has a lot of history of Alajuela. The museum will not take you too long to cover and is free.

It was alright. I like this kind of stuff, but it was hard to understand the museum since I am a novice Spanish speaker. Wish I had a tour guide, but it's free.
