It was so so. The wait for our meal was pretty long. Food was ok. Prices were reasonable for seafood. Waitress was friendly but seemed under pressure (possibly short-staffed). Overall I was a bit underwhelmed by the experience, but I do think they cared and were trying. I'd probably give this place a second shot.
We had an absolutely delicious meal in a chill but intimate kinda place. Staff were all lovely and fluent in at least 3 different languages.
"catch of the day" King Fish, for 9,000 Colones
Went based on reviews seen here and on Trip Advisor. Seems lunch time might be fine but we went (family 2A, 3C) in the evening. Service was terrible: an hour wait for four dishes, no interaction from waiting staff. In fact, active avoidance of customers, though happy to sit new tables as they arrived. Food was OK, and reasonably priced but the experience means I'd recommend you look elsewhere first for evening meal in this vibrant location. For the record, we've loved our stay just south of Puerto Viejo, by Playa Chiquita. Great lunch at La Botanica and we had good pizzas at the pizzeria in El Nido.
Excellent food in a local that doesn't look it. Stopped by for lunch, based on recommendations from my brother who had been here before. Really excellent ceviche, patacones and breaded fish (corvina). Highly recommend.
Great food. Incredibly fresh and tasty seafood in fantastic sauces. We had pina coladas before dinner and they were great and reasonably priced.
Our waiter was handling too many tables and from our North America expectations was a surly and rolled his eyes when we tool long speaking Spanish and understanding the menu. This is common in places where a service charge is automatically added to the bill. We often tip much more than 20% but not with thus guy. Too bad he made us feel stupid and ruined an otherwise delightful meal
Very good seafood. Sauces and sides delightful. Prices are neither cheap not expensive. Service fair.
Great food and service!
Delish and cheap!
We first bought giant fresh shrimp and tuna and red snapper packed in ice and then ate ceviche (mixed seafood) and fried plantain on the side and beer
Really good fresh seafood family style. Had fun!
Really great seafood, reasonable prices!
Fell in love with this place day one of our trip. Seafood soup is a must. Also anything with the Jamaican sauce on it is incredible.
Normal dinners, no special, no bad. Good staff, food ok:)
mixed seafood dish tasted great, but something bad in there made my face swell up for days. was horrible. I'm not allergic to seafood in any way; talked to a bunch of people who all said that happens from seafood gone bad.
My favorite restaurant in town! Best sea food soup and fried red snapper , and the best waitress Eleonora!
