We had a 2 day package at Mawamba Lodge as part of our Costa Rica tour. The location is very special and the lodge has the advantage of being just 15 minutes walk from Tortuguero village.
The cabins are very basic with no A/C.
The lodge grounds themselves have some amazing wildlife - iguanas, frogs, butterflies, birds etc
The buffet food is all very tasty and the restaurant setting is beautiful.
Our guide for all the excursions was extremely knowledgeable and together with the boat drivers found a lot of interesting wildlife in the national park area.
I think that one more excursion that was sold as an extra could have been included in the basic deal to make it really good value.
