We were lucky enough to get a tour to Rincon de la Vieja with Eduardo of Mardigi Tours. Diana at Mardigi helped coordinate the perfect day for us. She was super responsive and helpful. Eduardo and our very competent driver Franklin made this day a memory for life. Eduardo is an extremely knowledgeable trained biologist. If you just want to look at scenery his talents may be wasted, but if you want to learn the secrets and stories of this spectacular region, he's your guide! He was enthusiastic, fun and funny, making the car ride enjoyable. And his ability to find and teach us about the amazing flora and fauna was miraculous (including engaging the attention of our 5 and 7 year olds throughout. We loved our tour and will remember our day with you forever. Thanks, Eduardo!! And PS - Cameron says thanks for the special delivery of mango at lunch and live chickens on the way home! Loco local!!

"The world is an amazing book and those who do not travel, read only a page" My love for nature is as strong as my friendships! So thankful for this amazing trip with a friend for over 30 years! This trip changed my life! Costa Rica is a leader in preserving our natural environment and is a country of peace and balance! Did know that there has not been an army here since 1948? Did you know that if you cut down a tree you go to prison for 6 years? Did you know that their money is named after Christopher Columbus? Maybe I should have learned in elementary school, but it wasn't interesting to me then. I also learned about balance and peace and how does that work. We all live on this earth in harmony. Being quiet in the jungle was one of my favorite things! Hearing the waterfall in the background and all the chatter creates a beautiful song. Should have recorded a CD for me to take home, but this is a memory that will last a life time. This exercise taught me peace and to listen to your surroundings. A question was asked of me. Is a rabbit good or bad, is a snake good or bad? Well if you owned a sugar cane farm and the rabbits were eating all your crop, does the rabbit become bad? and if the snakes eat the rabbit to preserve your crop is the snake now good? It's balance of nature and learning to create space for all living beings. Not destroy and build too much on it! Balance, peace and harmony from Costa Rica ~ Pura Vida!
NATURE
I learned this from our tour guide Edwardo Jorge Malpyca who is a Biologist and very passionate about the environment, full of non stop education from how Costa Rica developed, nature, eco tourism, the people and resources and so much more! Our tour was from 5:30 am to 10:30pm and he educated us the entire time! It's a must do! Ask for Edwardo!response / report this review -

We just completed the Palo Verde excursion with Mark. It was absolutely wonderful. Mark is a font of knowledge when it comes to the flora and fauna. The river ride was very successful in that we saw alligators, howler and white-faced monkeys. The lunch was home made and delicious. Mark knew exactly where to go to view some rare bird species such as the Jabiru.
The Hermosa office is located beside the restaurant at CondoVac and you have to have security let you in after they speak with the Mardigi Tour rep.

We spent a few days in Costa Rica, Playa Hermosa. My husband and I were so fortunate to have participated in tours with Mardigi tour. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and compassionate. Marvin, Marc, Diana, and Taco made us feel so comfortable and made sure we enjoyed our time on vacation and sight seeing. We saw exotic birds, an active volcano, took bath in hot springs, mud baths, courtesy rum and coke, horse back riding, tractor ride and so much more. Oops, we zip lined! If you are going to Costa Rica and in Playa Hermosa, I strongly recommend touring with Mardigi Tours.

We had a great time on our trip! We did the Buena Vista excursion that included zip-lines, hanging bridges, horseback riding, waterslides and thermal spas. Marvin was our guide and he was very friendly and knowledgable. Everything was so easy and smooth! We got a mini history lesson on the way to the excursion and he even pointed out birds to us that he spotted. A very fun tour for families.

Excellent tours and exceptional tour guide, Mark! My wife and I did the River and Monte Verde tours on our first visit to Costa Rica in July 2015. Mark, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. We loved the private tours because you get the "personal touch" and get to ask many questions to your heart's contentand Mark delivered. We enjoyed the local restaurants we ate at on each of the tours. We wanted to experience the local cuisine and thoroughly enjoyed every meal. On our return visit to Costa Rica, we will definitely use this tour company again. We plan to visit Arenal Volcano, do horseback riding and hiking trips, etc. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this tour company to friends( requesting Mark,of course).
