Relaxing place. There is not sufficient parking, so you may have to park on the street. Staff is nice and helpful. Orchids are beautiful.
Usually there is no food-selling places on site, but occasionally there will be a couple of stands where you can get a bite.response / report this review -

Very well maintained botanical garden with impressive Japanese area. I especially liked the gigantic bamboo plants there.

The orquid sector es awesome and the park itself is a perfect place for a picnic. The japanese sector looks abandoned, nothing in it, the rest in similar to the primary forest typical fron Costa Rica.

El lugar es muy tranquilo, bonito y agradable. Las personas con algún tipo de discapacidad o señores de la tercera edad no tendrán problemas de transitar por los senderos. Me encantó como representan los diferentes ambientes naturales.

The orchids bloom mainly from late March to early May. The rest of the garden is somewhat ordinary if you have seen other beautiful gardens. The cost for non-residents was $10USD per person, with a lower student price. Hopefully this goes to further the research. Even in January though there were some beautiful orchids and other interesting plants.

Beautiful place to visit in Cartago. The garden is well maintained. Lot of differents plant to discover. The garden just lack of indication about the plants (type ? Name ? Season blooming ? Etc)

Amazing place. The ambien is just perfect, landscaping is simply beautiful. The orchids section should be taken care a little bit more since many of the them were eating by the insects. The feng shui garden is really nice as well as it's Temple. Pictures are simple perfect here. I didn't not try the restaurant on site but I'm sure is also good. This place is a most go.

This place is amazing! Orchids, Japanese Garden, cactuses, amazing palm trees, all manicured and overall top notch landscaped with walking paths, ponds and exhibits. A local highlight!

Well laid paths take you past various sections; Orchids, Bromeliads, Cacti etc. plus a Japanese Garden. Loved the Lotus ponds with Koi fishes

If you like orchids and tropical plants come see this place. It can be done in an hour but non rushed, spend 2.5 hours. Very unique and interesting garden areas. Ask for a tour if possible well worth learning from the guide.

This is a must see. Incredible, huge botanic garden. It is well maintained and contains an orchid collection that is out of this world. Definitely worth the price.
