Great Italian. It’s comparable to US prices but the homemade bread was fantastic. Give it a try!

Very good food, friendly staff and nice restaurant in general but quite expensive for Costa Rica.

Specials today included red snapper, personally deboned at the table by the chef, and a bruschetta with prosciutto. We split both and enjoyed the complimentary salad, soup, and bread. All was done with flair and finesse.

This is an authentic Italian restaurante situado dos made from scratch. I have to eat gluten free food and they had a good variety. The chef came out and tables to me before ordering to make sure of my need. Did was fabulous.

I have been to many Michelin-star restaurants — no joke, this place should join them. It’s romantic, beautiful, and not cheap (although still affordable by US city standards), incredible food and service, and a beautiful setting. Come here.

Experience world class cuisine in flip flops and board shorts. Some of the best food I have ever eaten, starting with a simple soup to the hand made ice-cream finish.
    Not to be missed.

The owner and staff will give you a true tasting of Italian cuisine with a twist of the local available proteins. This is a true eating experience that has been featured in the NYT.

This restaurant was so good we had to try it twice in two nights (something I rarely do on vacations). Everything went smooth from the moment we were seated till we left. Their menu is simple, but very fresh and cooked as if you were sitting in a trattoria in Italy. Owned by an Italian, which was very friendly and cared a lot for his customers. Our bill was always around $70, for a shared starter, 2 mains, a dessert and alcoholic beverages. Very good value for money, would not hesitate to visit the restaurant again in the future.

Possibly the best Italian restaurant in the area, La Pecora Nera has a cult following not only among locals but also among the tourist crowd.

The simple menu and extensive wine options are pretty unique to the area. They recently furnished their own wine cellar where you can walk and choose from the wines, which are clearly labeled with important details such as varietals and price.

The food is served in the right portions and everything seems to be really good.

Service is good and unobtrusive. They are very friendly but will respect your meal time, which I find great.

Prices are on the high side of the spectrum, but it is well worth it. The ambiance, food and drinks here are top notch so there is no reason to expect low prices. I would call this a very cost-effective place.

(the drive isn't well marked on GPS so go slow) Everything was great. Each dish was an experience. They even were very cool about the disturbances and outbursts of our group. Total pro's.

Absolutely an incredible experience. The chef/owner is an amazing guy with a vast knowledge of food and wine. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Noodles which are often over cooked were perfect. Wine pairing with the meal was spot on. The seafood pasta was amazing. The ink risotto was excellent. The owner even offered to dry our wet clothes while we ate. Cannot say enough about the experience, atmosphere and food.

    Thanks, your awesome!
