  My boyfriend and I just took a private surf lesson with Rob. I was a first timer and my boyfriend hadn't done it in years. Rob was encouraging and patience with us and gave good feedback throughout so we knew what we did right or wrong. We both had several successful attempts, along with many falls, and had a great time. The surf shop had a locker, shower, and changing room which was great.

  I took a surfing lesson with Ian last week, and he's by far the best surf teacher I've ever had. He told me exactly what I was doing that was wrong and how to fix it, incredibly helpful. The staff is friendly, and they have a great selection of rash guards and swim suits. Fantastic rental program, too.

  Order board online. Use paypal. And they deliver before u get there. They allowed me change out my board mid week with no problem. Corynne stopped by and dropped off wax. Cant ask for anything more. Nice and accommodating!!!

  Ian and Corrine are awesome! Shop has great surf gear and souvenirs. Surf instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. All around great surf shop!

  Super awesome people in the water and out. If you are in Grande you have to stop by for a lesson, some swag and friendly faces.

  Rented boards while we were visiting playa grande. They had reasonable prices and a decent selection to pick from. Frijoles Locos Surf shop even provided us with a strap to put the boards on our rental car. Thank you!

  Rented boards there for the week, several were brand new. Reasonable price. Got lessons during the week and really enjoyed them. Everyone was riding waves and most were beginners. Really nice to deal staff and owners.

  Great place to stay! JJ was the surf guide for our 6 year old and was fantastic. The rest of staff really went above and beyond to help with excursions and other recommendations!

  The owners are a surfing family who moved to CR years ago. The apartment was really nice, with great AC and updated appliances. Perfect for a family of 4 as there are two bedrooms. Just big enough to go back to and crash at the end of the day and not be on top of one another.
