The food was ok, nothing fancy, but it was a buffet so I can't really tell. Warm and welcome staffs. The drinks were nice. My wife was pregnant and she really wanted a raw sour mango, which they gladly helped.

My only suggestion is to have a water outlet at the gate. Many people walk from the beach with their bare feet and being able to wash their feet at the gate would be very nice.

The food is very good. They have a nice selection of domestic and craft beers. Their cocktail list has everything you could want. The biggest draw is the location. Not only is it on Ocotal beach it is the only bar/restaurant on Ocotal beach. I highly recommend going, grabbing a cocktail, and their mixed ceviche. They also will let you bring in your fresh catch and they'll prepare it for dinner with sides for a very, very reasonable price!

The margaritas were good, but nothing special. However, the atmosphere is awesome. The views of the beach is worth checking out. When you are outside, it feels like you are on a movie set. The atmosphere is what made the visit for me.

Absolutely loved Father Rooster's. Beautiful location and decor, perfect to sit and watch the sunset on the beach. We went 3 times and each time the food and drinks were fantastic (highly recommend the shrimp tacos and pina colada). All the servers are super friendly, especially Freddie, who even stopped to say hi to us when he saw us in town. Fantastic experience all around!

Fantastic place to eat (food is very good), drink and just hang out. Staff are very attentive and great people overall, Freddie served us and is a very cool guy. He told us about where to go downtown while we stayed in the area. We have gone back to the restaurant a few times now and its always been great! Highly recommend!

Very nice casual beach front bar/restaurant with excellent service and great atmosphere.
Love going with some friends to catch the sunset with some beers/drinks. One of my personal favorites in the area.

Located in Ocotal Beach, we had lunch here 3 different times. Here's my review:

    1. Prices are fair, it's a nicer spot compared to a hole in the wall so the prices reflect that.

    2. The service is the highlight. They are damn good at it. Almost as present as the flies (they have a massive fly problem so eat inside) and they always are there to make sure your needs are met.

    3. Food is good, very solid across all types (casado, catch of the day, appies, etc.) A
and you won't be disappointed with anything. The seafood is especially good. They have vegetarian options but not as good, seafood is their forte.

The service is the best we've had at a restaurant, food and drink options are awesome. You won't be disappointed. Plus it's the best spot after your time at Ocotal Beach and this is the best spot for refueling.

Enjoyed a very nice lunch overlooking the ocean. Had chicken nachos and chicken Caesar salad wrap. Service was great and the place was clean. Very relaxing.

Love this place! Right on the beach in Ocotal. Delicious food and drinks. You can walk right down to the beach and swim. Usually there are massage tents set up close by too. Recommend the Tica Linda drink and the Fish & Chips.

Food was good, but my burger was a little under-cooked (asked for medium). The setting is amazing though, and the pool table is a nice addition.

Good food and good vibe overlooking the beach. Lizards and birds are abundant. Caters to westerners. Price was pretty outrageous; $85 for family of 3 with normal ordering of meals/drinks.

Relaxed atmosphere, right on the beach with swings and hammocks to enjoy a tasty jalapeño margarita. I had a full red snapper Costa Rican style, which was delicious, and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. Pura Vida!

Live band was great. Go early and enjoy the Ocotal sunset. Good selection of craft beers. We stayed close and the chef even cooked up our catch from a day off fishing!

Try the shrimp tacos they are to die for!! Also their margaritas. Actually anything on this menu is delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They also have a live band on some nights which was surprisingly very good. Picture sand on your toes, a great meal with amazing company and the sounds of the ocean in the background. You really can't ask for any more perfection.

The wait was well worth the food. The Ahi Tuna tacos were very good. The atmosphere is great, it's right on the beach. I would definitely recommend it.

Going 5 stars for hospitality. We were there in the off season. Bar owner allowed us to bring in our own fresh fish and cook up on their grill. We of course, allowed him and his staff to join us for dinner. Ended up spending many hours in this bar over several days.

It is rustic with a friendly staff. Very close to the beach. Try to get in with the locals for the best experience in this area.
