Most amazing meal while we were in Costa Rica. If you are anywhere in the area, you should find a way to have dinner here. I will come back to Costa Rica just to eat there again.
Very pleasant atmosphere, family run French-tropical fusion menu. $$$
This local favorite, with a long history of providing creative and wonderful food, is a must when you are in the area.
We had a very nice dinner here, I had the Chicken Exotica, and my husband can the fish with banana curry (sea bass) both were really good, we both had smoothies, and dessert Cool passion ( passion fruit sorbet, with vanilla icecream and blackberry syrup) which was so refreshing and delicious and garnished with lovely flowers
Absolutely a great meal. Presentation of food excellent if you've never been go
Definitely the best food we've had in Costa Rica. Flavorful, interesting, all around really good. The menu is all over the place, Asian, french, Italian, whatever tastes good is on the menu, and I think that's ok. The presentations are beautiful and the owner is wonderful, she's got the kind of spirit that wraps up everyone around her in a kind of positivity and enjoyment. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
The food here is amazing! A++++ great atmosphere, lots of dishes to choose from and make sure you save room for dessert!
They are sooo nice too! Love this place!
Decent gringo food. Romantic setting. Get banana fish curry or chicken exotica.
This is among my favorite resteraunt in the world. We have eaten here about 10 times over the last ten years. It is part of the reason we travel to this part of Costa Rica.
Each dish is equisitly prepared and presented. The desserts are heavenly. Portions are on the small side but filling. Costs are normal for an international Resteraunt but high for a Costa Rica Resteraunt. They incorporate fresh ingredients and edible flowers.
The location is off a dirt road and half the tables are on a dirt floor. (all under a solid roof, but no walls.) To me the only downside other than cost of this resteraunt is some mosquitos.
The owners own a resteraunt down the road (citrus) that is fancier but it lacks the hostess and the chef. We have eaten there a number of times in each location and always prefer Exotica.
The hostess adds to the ambiance. She has remembered us over the years and treated each person as exceptionally welcome. The new waitress is very caring. Last night they insisted in helping us to the car with umbrella to keep us dry from the storm. Our first visit is memorable as she treated our little ones as princesses.
Highly recommend.
There are only a few tables here so service is always spot on. Make a reservation if you plan on eating here. The food is good and inventive but it is expensive for what you're getting, especially because there is so much fresh, inexpensive, food all over Costa Rica. We purchased a pitcher of some pretty expensive "Homemade Iced Tea". It tasted surprisingly familiar so we asked about it. Turned out to be the most expensive Lipton yellow label that any of us had ever drank.
The restaurant is also located just a few meters off of Ojochals main road. It is a small road, but it can be dusty and surprisingly loud at times.
Fresh Asian fusion food in a lovely space. The bass in Thai coconut soup was fresh and lively. The devil's fork is a spicy dark chocolate cake is just plain sinful
Lucy and her husband couldn't be more charming. Good food too. Make sure to reserve a table beforehand.
What a unique experience. A welcome first class experience when away from home. The food was amazing, the setting was even better. We sat outside in the back, there was a beautiful garden, water features, and statues. The service was excellent, the food excellent, the prices are on the high end.
