This is a most wonderful place to hike. The trails are well marked and the vegetation is amazing. We were able to see a sloth, a quati and some beautiful birds, including hummingbirds with beautiful colours. The suspended bridge is worth the walk, you really feel immersed in the forest. Plan for a rough drive to get to the reserve, a good portion of the road is unpaved.
Tour was great, guide was good, trail well kept and beautful. Warning though: ate at cafeteria got really sick stomach my girlfriend even worse with cramps, stomach and rash, They refunded money for food and got us a cab back to hostel.
Get a guide or you won’t know what you’re looking at! Our guide was great! She quickly
Set up the scope for us to see many wonderful things. Maybe we were lucky but we got to see the quetzal and a sloth on the move. Well worth the extra money after you pay the entrance fee. After you’re done walk around on your own. My wife and I wished we did instead of leaving to explore the little towns. This is why you drove 3 hours up scary dirt roads. Any other “nature” in the two little towns aren’t worth your money or time. Spend both here!
This reserva cannot be ignored. The footpaths are in excellent condition, it is very easy to navigate and features promontories with an excellent view.
Wonderful park. It's privately owned and run, unlike many of the national parks, but is reasonably well maintained and quite reasonable as entrance fees go. Like any wildlife park, i would recommend a guide so they can point out the differences between this and other forests, as well as show you what you can watch out for when browsing by yourself.
There's a 600c shuttle bus that runs every couple of hours back to the town
Very nice and beautiful place, we saw a lot of birds.
Great place for a hike/tour
Definitely recommend a guide, it's a nice walk on your own but wildlife is somewhat hard to spot without the proper gear!
It is an awesome place for birding and hiking. Staffs are kind and helpful. We saw Quezals and a Motmot. Some spots are windy and this place drizzles a lot. Waterproof cloth is necessary.
