  Superb rib eye steak cooked as requested. Excellent staff who were attentive, friendly and cool even tho the place was mobbed.
  Compares to the quality of food you will get in a good New York Steakhouse. Service is superb considering this is a small beach town in the middle of Costa Rica eg electricity went off twice during the course of the evening but they kept everything ticking along

  This was our first time to Costa Rica. I was in the mood for a great steak and after reading through the reviews we opted for El Lagarto's. I had the Porterhouse medium. It was flavourful, tender and cooked to my request. My wife had the tenderloin, our friends had the ribs and Surf & Turf which Rob says was "Superior".
  They bring new meaning to "Hot Potato" as they come straight off the coals to your plate. Atmosphere was enjoyable. The staff were pleasant and personable. The menu looked very broad and should have a little something for everyone. I was pleased with the price of the evening given the quality of the food, atmosphere and accommodating staff.

  Can’t go wrong with this restaurant. Excellent atmosphere, friendly/fast/attentive staff and the food is top quality. I came with a group of 8, and everyone was very happy with their dinner. Recommended, would certainly come back here!!

  The food is excellent, but the service is not that good. There is only one option for vegeterian people and if you ask them to make any change on the dish they always charge you more or tell you then cant. There is not a good parking area

  Our fish was delicious and service was on par. Part of fun dining here is seeing both chefs working with grills.

  Expensive grill for costa rica! The cocktails were very very expensive, 7$ for a sip of mojito!
  The dishes were good but nothing incredible!
  The food is all right but you can have better some where else!

  Food was excellent and so was the service. The steaks were nice and the garlic for starters was excellent while also repelling mosquitoes. Good concept well executed.

  Amazing food, great atmosphere topped off with some pretty strong drinks. Had beef tenderloin which was so tender and juice done perfectly in itself but the grilled veggies that accompanied it was incredible.
