Absolute great restaurant and great drinks.
    Great views friendly staff.
We went mid afternoon and it wasn't packed at all.
Definitely one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been to.

This place is just breathtaking, it has the most beautiful view to the ocean and Manuel Antonio National Park beach. The food is also great, the whole red snapper is out of this world. The have a plane in the front entrance with a bar inside it, really nice to visit with family and kids.

What a great view from a unique restaurant!

How often do you see a C-135 and get to eat there, too? And one that has a great view of the Pacific ocean? And one that has great food? If you are in the area of Manuel Antonio park , this place is a great stop. Arrive hungry, because the portions are generous. Prices are $$-$$$ but worth it.

Five stars just for the experience. The plane itself is awesome and right on the menu they tell you the history of it. Watch American Made to see the plane in action. We had meatball subs because it was the cheapest choice. They were delicious I think we spent 35$ all together for dinner. if you go during sunset they have great views, as does every other restaurant on that side of the hill.

Visited in October 2016. Good spot to have a drink and/or eat after a hike. Cool walking into the airplane entrance.
Cool lights on the outside using liquor bottles.
Nice views looking out to the sky sunset sunrise trees etc.
There's a nice dessert place right beside it - great for breakfast or a snack any time.

We ate here last night and it was awesome. Our waitress Gaby was fantastic and super friendly. She told us stories and was very nice. I had the nachos and the grilled chicken breast in passion fruit sauce. Very tasty!

Update: We went again and Gaby was our waitress again. She remembered what we all ordered last night and was very helpful. She is one of the best waitresses I've ever met, and my family is really happy they met her as well. The food was delicious again tonight!

View and atmosphere are second to none. Food we got was average, not bad but not special. I’d still recommend people go here because it’s a cool place. Service was good

I read some bad reviews of this place before going with my family but at the end we decided to give it a try. I'm really glad we did! The staff was great and all the waiters were very friendly, the food was very good, specially the cheeseburgers and pinneaple drinks. But the best part is definitely the view! I'd recommend visiting El Avión before 5 pm so you'll get to see the sunset, it was breathtaking. It's a little bit expensive but totally worth it. Highly recommend.

Great food quality to price ratio. Amazing sunset view and fun airplane bar! Romantic and convenient parking. Super nice and fast service —> something that is missing in Costa Rica. Also has an amazing bakery and coffee shop.

I did not eat here because they didn't seem to have any gluten free options. But we had drinks here multiple times. The atmosphere and uniqueness of the restaurant was absolutely amazing. The view was unbelievable and we also saw lots of monkeys crawling off the roof onto the trees. The staff was fun energetic. Would definitely recommend, especially when the bar inside the plane is open at night.

This restaurant is a bit of a tourist trap, but that hasn't stopped me from visiting every time I'm in Costa Rica. It's the perfect spot to stop for lunch on the way back from Manuel Antonio. I've never had a bad meal here, the beer is ice cold, and the views are spectacular. I'd recommend the chicken sandwich and an Imperial. I'll continue stopping through here any time I'm in the area.

The resturant is in a touristy area, so it is frankly, overpriced. You will not get a cheap meal here. But on the other hand, the beer is cold, view of the ocean is great, the old crashed airplane in the center of the restaurant is pretty cool, and the food was good. You will definitely enjoy coming here. I ordered the shrimp with rice. Portion size was massive and there were plenty of shrimp, very tasty.

We was forced by staff to bought meal, but we wanted just coffee. Three different waiters takeing care about us, it was a little bit confusing for us. They was unkind when they recognized that we want only caffee.

We had a really nice lunch there, four of us, after a morning tour in the park. Very good service and agreeable food. The view was nice. Probably a tourist joint, but -- hey -- there are a lot of tourists in town. I recommend.

Awesome place to see the ocean and especially the sunset. The plane in the middle of the restaurant makes for a great talking point. Sadly the yellow fin tuna was very dry. I couldn't get through half of it. I really enjoyed the seafood soup.

Everyone talks about watching the sunsets here and if you want to pay too much for overpriced food to do so then this is the place. The set up is really nice with the tables along the sides for sunset viewing but honestly there are better (and cheaper) places to eat and see the same sunset. The bar inside of the plane is pretty cool so I would reccomend grabbing a drink in there then going somewhere else for your meal.
