EfraĆn is THAT guy. Other guides wish they were him. His stories and family history with the park made our visit so incredibly special, and his hospitality is unparalleled. You don't need to look for anyone else, his touring service really is the #1 BEST.

Our group of five went on the campesinos waterfall and hanging bridges tour with efrain himself and it was AMAZING! Efrain was completely responsive, knowledgeable, and very personable! Efrain will show you animals along the drive and on the tour which is a huge plus since we would not of seen them otherwise. Would definitely go on another tour with Efrain tours if I am ever back in Costa Rica!!

Efrain was a superb guide, because it was evident that he loved sharing the wonders and majesty of his country with others. He was patient, allowing us to linger along the way to take in the experience. On the day of our tour, a torrential downpour arrived as we were having our lunch. While we waited for the rain to subside, Efrain continued to point out things that only a naturalist would see. The rain did not stop. I am sure driving was a challenge on the back roads. Streets were flooded in Quepos. Efrain took great care of us, making sure that we arrived safely at our destination in Manuel Antonio.

Our group of 6 friends used Efrain for a wonderful guided tour through Manuel Antonio National Park. Most of the guides are reasonably aware of the main wildlife in this fabulous park. However, Efrain grew up in the area before it became a park. His background stories and keen eye for spotting insects and wildlife were fabulous and made our time in the park something we will remember forever.
    Well worth buying his talent!

We booked a tour with Efrain through our hotel. It included transportation, bottle of water per person and fruits during break. We can’t recommend him enough. Efrain was kind, professional, knowledgeable and passionate during the entire tour. He found all animals and directed the other guides where to find them. He definitely knows best!! His family history associated with the park is fascinating and beautiful. Thank you for a great time!

Efrain is the cream of the crop. You will see lots of people offering to guide you around and show you animals in Manuel Antonio, but this guy is the real deal. He was born inside the park before it was designated as a protected area, and knows it like the back of his hand. He is PASSIONATE about his work and sees things so far away, so small, that you think it's magic or cheating somehow. Example: on the way to our night jungle tour with him, in the van being transported to the tour site, Efrain pulled over on the side of the road and got out to show us a coral snake he spotted. SPOTTED along the road while DRIVING in pitch black dark night. This was one of the coolest parts of the whole night because we got out, he told us facts about it and let us view the gorgeous animal, then bravely scooped the (extremely poisonous) snake off the road and ran it to the other side, where it could reenter the jungle, all amidst intense traffic on a blind curve where cars were speeding up and down from both directions. And the official tour hadn't even started yet. Needless to say, if you want to see the most and the best, and you want to actually learn something about these animals too, GO WITH EFRAIN. He does day tours, night tours, private/customized tours, you name it. Not to be missed.
