I could not have recovered after surgery if I had not come to CheTica. The owners are the kindest people I have ever met as well as their staff. Francis, the nurse is knowledgeable and patient. She is a wonderful nurse and person. The friendships developed amongst the guests that are going through the same thing makes recovery tolerable. Meals are good and healthy, the housing is great. Each place has it's own theme. I can't say anything bad about it. I will return to CheTica Ranch, maybe even while on vacation.
This is my second time staying here and i wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's very beautiful, but mostly they are very attentive while recovering from surgery. I couldn't have done it without them since my family couldn't assist. I highly recommend!
I can not say enough wonderful things about Chetica. From the minute we landed in Costa Rica and got picked up, arriving at the ranch and literally every single moment there I felt so loved, so genuinly cared for both physically and emotionally. Every person there is so genuinely compassionate and loving and you feel so comfortable with the staff and them taking care of you. They go above and beyond if you happen to need something that is out of the scope of the typical post op care. The meals were delicious, the nurse was truly an angel and they along with the owners felt like and treated us like family. Recovering at a place like this with ALL your needs being taken care of is just so peaceful and tranquil and I firmly believe greatly enhances your recovery. I would definitely recommend Chetica ranch to anyone traveling to Costa Rica.
I am day six at CheTica Ranch and my experience here has been nothing more than a blessing. Everyone with everything has exceeded my expectations.
The view is breath taking and the food is amzingi am a health freak and only eat the best food. The food here is all made from scratch fresh and healthyhigh in healthy protien, vegetables and fruit with freshly squeezed juice per every meal.
They treat you like family and so attentive to your every need.
The ownrs are amazing caring and friendly. The nurse here.well she is an angel honest truth. I have never met a nurse who is so very caring , so very compassionate and so attentive. I came alone for surgery and was quite nervious but she honetly has been taking care of my every need.from bathing me like a baby to keeping track of my appointments, to changing my dressings and making sure i take all my meds, to jist dropping in multiple time a day just to check on me and make sure i am ok. Everyday im amazed how she does all that she does with so much love and compassion. She even waits by my door for me to help me out of the car when i return from my appointments.
One review on here talked about trafic noise and aints and masqueos that had me a little worried prior to arriving becaue i am sensitive to noise.
I hear a trafic sound but do not see itand the nature sounds to me seem louder than trafic noise and it is absolutely no issue. I sleep all night and nap everyday since i have been here.
I love the bird sounds and i sleep with back doors open all night and keep them open all day. I love the fresh air and the nature sounds so much.
I have seen absolutely no masqueto issues even tho i keep doors open 24 7 with no screen on it.
Off course i see little ants and other bugs crawl outside and seen few on my bathroom floor but it is in the middle of a beautiful rain forrest and normal. Absolutely nothing to be alarmed about. No one here seems to have any issues and i came from a big group who all breg about the place. I wsih more peple took time to write honest reviews for this place beacaue it is honestly a gem!
The care here is exceptional if you are coming for surgery and i cant believe anyone saying anything different.
I feel blessed to be here!💕
Thank you so much for all you do Chetica staff to make our experience here so amazing.💕
I stayed at this clinic recently, and found it most charming. The owners were very helpful, and attentive to all my needs. I did not have any bad or unpleasant experiences AT ALL. Loved the place and the staff - would give them 5 stars! I do not understand the above bad remarksI personally found non of that to be the case.
Thank you guys for making my extended dental stay very pleasant and affordable..
Thinking of having cosmetic surgery or extensive dental work? Think San Jose, Costa Rica. They have many excellent cosmetic surgeons and dental surgeons. Even better—there are many places that specialize in caring for patients after surgery. (In the states, you are sent home to look after yourself.) Generally offered are 3 meals a day, transportation to and from the doctors’ offices, and assistance in bathing and caring for the incisions.
In 2004, I researched and selected a surgeon and a recovery facility. I chose Che Tica Ranch for my recovery and it was a great decision! So, when I planned to return August 2014, I chose Che Tica Ranch again. It was even better than before! They had renovated the themed cottages, created large and beautiful walk-in showers, added hospital beds in addition to the regular beds, Wi-Fi, and large collections of books and DVDs. They also added a new kitchen and a social club/dining room, so the guests may decide whether to take meals in their rooms or join other guests in the dining room. Talking to all the different guests is great fun and educational as well. Special diets are accommodated. At one meal I saw four people with individualized menus, none the same. The daily rate for all this is less than a night I recently booked at a Holiday Inn Express.
VERY NOISY LOCATION, TWO VERY ACTIVE VOLCANOES LOCATED TWO MILES AWAY, RED STINGING ANTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE COTTAGE, DENGUE FEVER, MALARIA, THERE ARE MOSQUITOES ON THE PROPERTY. Ruben Dario Martin the owner of the ranch will not answer 95% of your questions. Notice how the have no reviews at all. It is because they keep having Google remove them. I asked him prior to arriving at the ranch many questions. I asked if it is noisy at the ranch. He said that it was quite. My cottage was 75 yards from a very noisy highway that had loud trucks passing by every 3 to 5 minutes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I was not able to sleep more than 3 hours for the four days that I was there. The ear plugs provided got stuck in my ears and it was still noisy. I asked if the ranch was located near any active Volcanoes. He said the Volcanoes were far away from the ranch. In fact when I arrived the cars had volcanic ashes on them and there are two very active volcanoes located two miles from the property. We left no food inside the cottage and the cottage was still infested with red stinging ants, moths, and I saw some mosquitoes. Rubens and his wife lied by saying that I do not have to worry about dengue fever or Malaria. Hospital CIMA told me that there is dengue fever in that area. Ruben told me that the water that he provides is safe, I asked him if he had bottled water Ruben said yes. They do not have bottled water. They provide unfiltered well water. I asked the Hospital CIMA if the water was safe to drink there they told me to drink bottled water. The white old run down mini van that they use to pick you up from the airport has an exhaust leek and the cabin fills with noxious exhaust fumes. I became ill every time I was in the van. I also had a headache from the fumes. They cab that they provided also had an exhaust leek and made me sick. They say that they provide transportation per your request, but when I had them take me to the store for bottled water they would hurry me and I was not able to purchase the items I wanted. San Jose Costa Rica is very expense bottled water was more expensive than here in the United States. Everything is imported and is more expensive than the United States, even local items are more expensive than the equivalent in the United States. Patient Beyond Borders list this facility as a great place for after care. Robert Page at Med To Go International recommended this facility located in San Jose Costa Rica and told me that hip replacement in Costa Rica is the exact same as in the United States. This is not true when I met with Doctor Fabrizio Picado who is on Med To Go International’s website the doctor told me that they do not have a type of medicine used to slow bleeding during the hip replacement procedure, and that 20% of his patients require blood transfusions. The medicine used in the states to slow bleeding in the United States only 5% of patients require blood transfusions. Doctor Fabrizio Picado only performs 1 or less hip replacement surgeries per a month and has a leg discrepancy of 1 to 2 centimeters. This will cause life long back and neck problems. I asked Doctor Fabrizio Picado prior to leaving Los Angeles all of the questions in advance about the leg discrepancy, complication rate, infection rate, and several more questions. He said that he would only answer these questions if I was in his office. Robert Page refused to answer many of questions; the caregiver facility refused to answer several of my questions, Doctor Fabrizio Picado refused to answer several of my questions. Robert Page at Med To Go International told me that I was asking too many questions. Doctor Fabrizio Picado would not answer several of my questions when I met with him, and he said that he does not like treating Americans because they ask too many questions and that he plenty of Costa Ricans to treat.
