Awesome place. Went there for lunch. Everyone was so friendly there we felt so welcome. We were there with our 9 month old and the friendly server brought some fresh papaya for her and took her into the kitchen and to the pool. Very good experience.
Oh and yeah, the food is really really good too. Highly recommend the Ceviche and the fish and seafood plate!!
Great food, kind of pricey.
The hotel is nice and very clean. The location is good. The restaurant is good. The people are nice. The wifi works downstairs but does not work in the rooms which is a simple thing which they can fix. If you stay somewhere else, come eat here and get the seafood soup.
Been surfing traveling CR for 35 years and it does not get better then this hotel setting in authentic Tico village of Negra. Great place to stay and meet many new friends good food great little private pool in rear and comfortable rooms priced right for all budgets. New owner new manager and many crew members been around for years make your stay wonderful. Simple authentic and very inviting. This is my choice every trip for years now. Sure to please attitude from all crew members.
Very good food, in a modern friendly atmosphere. While on the road we stopped on a whim and were pleasantly surprised.
Awesome food and service.
We stopped for lunch because Corazon de los Pargos was closed. We were lucky. Ceviche mixto was excellent, though spicy hot. And vegetarian casado abundant and tasty. Our friit drinks delicious. The place with nice music, ample, different ambiances and very clean and orderly overall. Service very was friendly and efficient.
Place was my favorite for dinner during my stay in Playa Negra . Daniel is super nice and speaks very good English. He also knows a lot about the area and will tell you anything you want to know while also suggesting the best plates the kitchen has to offer. The other 2 ladies serving us were very warm and welcoming, while not knowing the best English, made sure they understood what we wanted before they submitted it. I suggest the Peruvian meals, something like a ceviche CPN was my favorite.
Great spot to stay in Playa Negra. I booked through Expedia and they were waiting for us the night we got there. Our room was simple but spacious and had AC.
There aren't lots of options in Plays Negra and the area is overpriced, but this spot was convenient and the amenities were decent for a Costa Rican rural area. Service was really friendly and the restaurant was expensive but good.
A word of warning if you are thinking of coming here for the first time: the last portion of the road to get there is unpaved and there are giant holes along the way, rent a 4x4 or a car that can handle uneven and muddy terrain.
Nice place. Good food, friendly staff.
Feels like home! The manager is an amazing local surfer and he treats all the guests like family. The rest of the staff is very helpful and kind. The food is great especially if you want to try more of the local foods such as casadas, patacones, and ceviche. There is a beautiful deck above the restaurant where you can hang out and access the wifi. There is a projector and sometimes they show surf movies and games. They also have live music some nights.
What an amazing place. So beautiful. The rooms are clean and cool. The staff goes above and beyond. The kitchen is hands down some of the best food in Costa Rica, and that's saying something. Thank you for a great trip Cafe Playa Negra. We'll be back soon.
