French chef owner, everything is freshly made and delicious. A must try for anyone visiting Liberia; instead of having dinner at your hotel restaurant with hohum food try this restaurant for a unique culinary experience. You'll pay the same price as any regular hotel restaurant, so not overly expensive. The desserts are to die for, they have seven different kinds of dessert crepes plus daily dessert specials. The Tres Leches is the best in town. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We ordered the guac and chips appetizer, ceviche, chicken fajita, a burger and the famous lava cake. All of it was outstanding. Pricing was $7-$12 for the main entrees. The chef/owner was super friendly and professional. It was a fun treat for our young family.

Beautiful old restored home. Loved my catch of the day..presentation is nice. The chef brings out your meals. Great smoothies too. It was quiet ..maybe we were too early or beginning of low season..all good

ITs located in a heritage building with outstanding old features like a mural on the ceiling and ornate woodwork around the place. The ceilings are 14 feet high and the doors are 10 feet. But the prize of the restaurant is its food created by a real french chef and created to perfection. Ive watched him prepare meals and he is detailed and he seasons the food perfectly. HE has a very refined taste in great classic jazz which is always playing and his waitress Leah ( im not sure if that spelling is correct has the most charming personality that makes you feel extremely welcome. Cafe Liberia is well worth seeking out. The fajitas and chicken ceasar salad are beyond compare

This was one of the best parts of my visit to Costa Rica. A friend and I stopped here before heading out to Tamarindo for the day and it did not disappoint. We weren't overly hungry so we just ordered lemonades and the queque de chocolate estilo or lava cake. I still think about it till this day. Maybe it was the atmosphere but I haven't been able to capture the way I felt eating that lava cake with any other version I've found stateside. Such is life.

The building is beautiful and is truly a gem in Liberia. If you find yourself in this town, it's a must.

This is a destination coffee spot with very nice food. The house is an historic mansion and tour groups come for a look. Stop in and you will be happy.

I asked for the wifi password and it took 20 minutes for the owner to give it to me. He came from the kitchen with a very nasty face, said something to the waitress and gave me the password. Sorry, I'll NEVER go back to this place!! He thought I wasn't consuming enough to use his wifi.

What a gem. This cafe was our favorite part about visiting Liberia! It was about the only thing open on the eve of Easter, and we hung out there all day in the shade sipping coffee and fresh juice smoothies. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We came back later that same day with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the night ambiance and the diner menu, which was fabulous. Highly recommended.

We stopped Liberia bus stop and walked 11 minutes with our backpacks and luggage. As we made our way through the amazing little streets we were happy to see such a lively little town, bustling with happy friendly people.

We arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen opened (1130am), but that was no problem. We were greeted with a smile and were offered the drinks, until the kitchen started their burners.

This amazing little restaurant is a must when visiting this city.

Excellent lunch! One of the most authentic restaurants I ate at during my week-long stay. The server and cook were calm, friendly and spent a lot of time talking with us. The sandwiches were delicious. On a quiet street and in a central part of town.

I ended up here for my final night in Costa Rica back in April before an early morning flight. It was a quiet evening, and I quite liked this place. There is something so laid back and great about the space. The food was good, and the smoothies were very, very good. The waitress was lovely and friendly. I would love to return. Oh, and the ceiling has a cool mural.
