Great location right on the beach. This hotel has everything you need and is a close walk to a lot of other restaurants on the beach. It also has a little restaurant and bar which is nice. They pour a strong drink, too! The room was clean and safe. No fridge or A/C though.

The downside - It's not glamorous and there was no hot water. The cleaning people also didn't come to change our garbage while we were there (3 days) which gets a little gross since you can't flush your toilet paper.

Overall, we got what we paid for and I would stay again.

I spent 4 amazing days in this place, Start up run from a nice French couple. Of course the real value is the location, on the beach, sea view and 10 minutes of nice walking on the beach to get to the main Samara street. Special quiet breakfast under the palm trees in the morning, unforgettable sunsets, delicious food. Being a start up, there are just little minor things to improve, but the balance quality/cost is the best one in Samara! Absolutely recommended!!

This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. My room was very run-down looking compared to the pictures on the booking site.

The windows were seized open and there were no screens to stop mosquitoes and other insects. A neighbor's rooster began crowing at 3:00 AM and it echoed loudly enough inside the room to prevent any sleep after that.

Some of the windows didn't have any curtains on them, and none of the curtains did a thing to block out any light. Some of the windows were stained from paint splatter, and one was cracked and taped over.

The free parking consists of wedging your car between pairs of palm trees and hoping none of the coconuts fall on your car.

My check-in was delayed because the front desk lost the reservation of the people ahead of me. Perhaps they're the lucky ones.

When I informed the staff of the issues with the room, they tried to convince me that their accommodations were perfectly normal for Costa Rica and that "there were no problems with the hotel." I've stayed in plenty of hotels and this was not my first stop in Costa Rica, and my wife is from Costa Rica, and we both found the hotel completely unacceptable.

We were able to find much better accommodations for a comparable price.

I pre-booked and pre-paid for 7 nights and left after 1. The hotel staff originally said they would "see what they could do" to offer me a refund for the remainder of the nights, but then as soon as I turned the room key in they curtly told me there would be no refunds whatsoever.

The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, especially after being told there was no credit card machine and seeing other people paying cash in advance for such substandard rooms. When we were checking out, we saw other guests personal credit card information/numbers plainly visible with no consideration for the information's security, which makes me glad I booked via a 3rd party site at least.

My wife and I decided to take a chance on this place because there were a couple of positive reviews for it, but we regretted our decision the moment we walked into our room. Don't waste your money on this dump.

Absolutely amazing! The location, the staff/owners, the food, the experience, everything was top notch and we had the best time here! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend staying at Bahia when in Samara. We even stayed two extra days and never wanted to leave.

    Only rating restaurant.

Best food so far in Sámara.

Had dinner there 1st visit. The Arroz con pollo and chicken Casado were fresh and way above average for a small beach bar. My wife got the chicken salad that was fresh garden greens with their grilled chicken top. Getting that when we go back.

Next morning we took our grandchildren there for pancakes with fresh fruit.

About a 6 minute walk down the beach (east) of downtown Sámara

    Worth the walk.
