The Butterfly Conservatory is very large and well maintained. The staff is friendly and eager to help you learn about the butterflys, frogs, and their habitats. The admission price is fair, and they do a lot of good work to upkeep the conservatory. Would love to go again.

My wife and myself had a wonderful time in the butterfly Conservatory. We saw many butterfly and frogs. The road to El Castillo is a dirt road and you need to have an SUV to get there. Make sure you don't drive too fast on the dirt road. The butterfly are in large areas covered by net so that they can't fly away. Make sure you bring good walking shoes when you walk through the garden.

A life-changing experience We had never seen so many butterflies, or being so closely I touch with them. They had four sections devoted to four different kinds of butterflies You have to visit this during your time around the Arenal volcano.

I really love this place. A lot of beautiful butterflies, staff will tell you many interesting things about every butterfly you see there and ask any question you can have.
You can also find some reptiles there. Some famous toads, and other.
I recommend to visit this place.

We went immediately following the eco zoo as they are almost next door. The butterfly enclosures are really beautiful; the depict fields, mountains and valley habitat. The trails are nice as well. You cant see the facility from the front as its down from the main building.

Quite a bumpy road to get here but worth a visit if you're in the area. Lots to see and friendly informative staff. They don't accept credit card, only cash.

Nice place about 40 minutes from la fortuna. If you go to arenal national park or observatory this is a great side stop. Cash only. 15 for adults. 12 for kids. Owner is nice and informative. 4 butterfly habitats are amazing. Pond is not so great but has some scary looking turtles in it. Take the long walk at the end, very primitive and many beautful plants, trees, and flowers to see.

This is a wonderful treat for your eyes.We were able to capture a lot of nice images for our documentary. Make sure you bring a macro lens and lots of patience to shoot the butterflies once they move very very fast from one place to another. A must go once in Arenal !

Totally worth the $15. The experience of being in the different butterfly houses is remarkable. Seems like out of a fantasy world to be in a small space with so many beautiful butterflies. The guides are passionate and super helpful. The parking lot has an amazing view of Arenal volcano. The insect museum has several different types of butterflies in cocoons?? And if you're lucky you'll be able to see a butterfly hatch! Definitely a must in Costa Rica

We enjoyed it. If you are going to Arenal / Sky Adventures - worth pooping in here after. There is a nice river walk you can do and we saw monkeys in the wild as we did! We felt $15 was reasonable.
