We found it by accident and were totally surprised with a beautiful view of the ocean. The food was delicious, service was quick and drinks were cold. Not much to complain about!

Sorry, I'm going to be a contrarian here. The location is generally picturesque, but honestly that is all it has going for it. It's very expensive and the food is okay. It seems to draw in large numbers of tourists and so it can eek out fair meals at exorbitant prices. So if you are looking for a cool spot to see the water and grab some okay local fare with high prices - this is your spot.

The people working there are all very good and nice though.

This one for me I found over priced. I tried to try all the restaurants on the beach however this one seemed to be over priced in my opinion. I am not rating the food as it may be great but the prices weren't.

Gorgeous location with a great view of crashing waves. You can rent surfboards here. The food is excellent. I had a red snapper, caught fresh that day. A bit pricey, but well worth it. I'd definitely return.

Great place for a stop over. Good food and the beach has real surfs for "real" surfing (not the body surfing I've seen so far). It was quite the show to see locals and tourists alike come out with their board just before sunset!

Great restaurant to relax under a shed and to see the beautiful beach. The food is great. Fresh. I ate a fish they caught in the morning. The staffs are very friendly and the services are fast.

Very friendly staff! I ate the, "Basic Costa Rican Dish", it was filling but lacking spices. They allowed me to park in the lot all day so I could spend the day at the beach which was nice. However, one staff member claimed tip was not included, despite the fact that Costa Rica has a 10% tip included!

During our week-long stay in Playa Hermosa, we ate here almost six times! The staff are friendly and accommodating, the owner is super friendly, and the food delicious! i highly recommend the casados, breakfast burritos, and margaritas. If you love animals, there are plenty of dogs, iguanas, and squirrels to watch. The view of the beach is great for watching surfers.
