Jutting out into the estuary of quepos, done while watching the fishing boats come and go.

Cocol island breaks the incoming waves of the Pacific, while leaving stunning sunset views.

At half the price and twice the ambience of either tourist hell Manuel-Antonio or the yacht crowd marina you will have a better Costa Rica here than anywhere else.

Bahia Azul, which is located just before crossing the bridge into Quepos, and sitting a stone's throw from the ocean, is a typical Tico cantina offering a good variety of bocas (or tapas) and full dinners in an open-style atmosphere. Not much English is spoken and the majority of the building is occupied by the bar. Good prices and a favorite stop for many locals after work for a few cold beers, or the tour guides who want to show their customers some local flavor. Live music is often offered as well as karaoke nights and dancing.

Got a chicken sandwich here. Terrible, soggy bread. Chicken is shredded and falls right out of sandwich. The place smells bad too, since it is located next to a marina. Prices are too high for the average traveler. Will not be going back. Ever!

Went for the $2 beers, stayed for the sunset while sitting on the edge of the river. Ended up eating chicken fajitas during the Minnesota/Philadelphia NFL game. Everything was going great until the DJ starting playing the music and we could no longer talk. Sign of old age on our part. Also women's bathroom had an unpleasant odor.

Good food - especially enjoyed the Arroz de la Casa. The prices seemed a bit high, but nice view of the water.
