Lovely room, nice people, comfortable hammock. Close to the airport yet it was a quiet night.

Really quaint place. The only trouble we had was with the adjoining room door. The person in the next room was up watching TV all night and you can see the light through the door. So perhaps ask for a room without an adjoining Suite!

The most comfortable place we've stayed in Costa Rica! Very clean, spacious suite, good bed, plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. Really, a top-notch stay!

A low keyed B&B in a real Tico neighborhood with transportation to the airport. Transportation and cooked breakfast included. Apartments and rooms. Clean. Worth the price.

My experience with Vista los volcanes is both positive and negative. I lead a wellness retreat to Costa Rica every year and our last year's hotel wasn't available and we found this hotel.
First the positive. The rooms were clean with plenty of space. The staff was very friendly. They picked me up from the airport and all was good.
The negative. There was poor water pressure which flagged down to non-existent several times in a shower. Had a cockroach friend. The safe was not useable.
Being a group staying there for one night then traveling to the coast, we have rather specific needs and we were communicating with Carlos who was at first agreeable and accommodating. He seems to have an "over promise/under deliver" mentality though. He agreed to arrange a rental car which would be delivered to the hotel. Instead a shuttle arrived an hour late. This meant we had to start the process at the rental car place. The price at the rental place was more than Carlos said it would be. They were quite helpful though. This or us two hours behind in our drive to the coast.
Carlos put on a happy face and acted like this was just a typical day of doing business in Costa Ricawhich also is a load of BS. All my other dealings in CR have been very positive and easy. What a country, what people! Pura Vida! Will not be seeing Carlos again!response / report this review -

Wonderful hospitality from the staff and a clear view of the active Poas Volcano. Delicious banana pancake breakfast with fresh coffee and juice. Short drive to the airport. Will definitely visit again in the future!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Very mellow atmosphere in a great neighborhood with nice views at the base of the volcano. Staff were very accommodating and helpfully. Breakfast was great. Rooms were very clean and nice. Each room has a small kitchen if you're interested in cooking your own meals. Shuttle was right on time. About a 20 minute drive to the airport. It's a great stop for an overnight before a trip to the airport, or a stopover away from San Jose. I would highly recommend it!

Great place to stay. Friendly staff, very nice breakfast, shuttle to airport even at four in the morning. We look forward to staying again. San Joaquin is a fun place to walk around.we had a very nice timethank you.
