At Auto Mercado you're always going to have a good shopping experience but this store in particular goes beyond any other, they have employees on every isle asking you if you need help with anything. Not the cheapest though.

Like everyone says, this is the place where you'll find products you won't find at other stores.

There is a very limited number of vegan products but again, you won't find them anywhere else. Most are priced at about 4 USbut then there are the 4 Italian sausages for almost 8 US. Soyou've got to decide how much you like the products you may have been accustomed to.

I didn't find any soy chunks or the texturized mince meat substitute. It's a little pricier than other stores for those willing to pay more for what they won't get anywhere else.

Great products for decent prices. Compared to most stores in Costa Rica, this one could fall under the luxury category.

U bought a very well priced 12 years old Flor de Cana and various types of coffee that also souvenir shops are selling for double the price.

Some basic souvenirs are also available, like Costa Rica coffee mugs, fridge magnets etc

This is a small supermarket in the heart of San Jose. They have a smaller selection but the same high quality as all the other Automercados in Costa Rica. There is a parking garage in the building and a big parking lot across the street. For American tourists just looking for something from home this is the place to go.
